This cover feels really thick and durable.  I was impressed upon taking it out of the box.  Easy to cover pool and the looks great.  I'm confident it will work throughout years to come.  Glad to make this purchase.

Excellent Cover...Impressed just in the feel

We just sat this up today for our kids and so far we love it

cover fits well, however the little tool used for tightening the cable that comes with it kind of fell apart before we even used it

Is what is advertised

I was told that the Dirt Defender pool covers were a great deal for the money, so I decided to try one. Opened up the box, good so far, removed cover, cable & ratchet mechanism. Read all literature supplied (1 sheet with very little helpful information). Proceeded to place cover over pool as directed by that one lonely sheet of paper. Weaved cable through grommet eyes of pool cover and inserted cable ends into ratchet assembly to tighten down the cable to secure cover to pool under the top rail. After two cranks on the ratchet assembly the gear spring failed to hold the tension of the tightening cable and loosened up. I cranked it again and this time the washer holding the ratchet pivot into the block of the assembly broke off and there was no longer a way to tighten the cable. The cover seems to be of decent quality however the cable is very small (Ø 1/16") and the ratchet mechanism is so poorly designed and constructed, I doubt it would have ever held the cable tight for any length of time. I ended up going to a hardware store and bought cable crimps, cable thimbles and formed loops at both ends about 3 feet apart so I could use a light duty ratchet strap to tighten the cable. Very disappointed in this product and I will NEVER buy or recommend anything from Dirt Defender again.

Cable & ratchet assembly are horrible!!

What else can I say...the cover does not fit our 12x24' above ground pool..it's not even close to fitting.. Quality is acceptable, but I doubt it would last 15 years.
