[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the apple this time. The blueberry overnight oats were good- with blueberry in every single bite. This apple flavored oatmeal is even better because of the apples and the cinnamon. It's also very healthy- and tastes healthy and fresh as well.

Social Nature

This looks like it's replacing the Apple Pieces & Cinnamon Oatmeal Packets. I love Bob's products and eat two packets for breakfast daily.

Overall, the new version has a nice sweet apple taste, but is less healthy so I'll be switching to either their new classic version or a different brand.


Pros:
-Added oat bran for fiber
-Nice flavor & packaging 

Cons:
-More added sugar (5g vs 9g)
-No longer has healthy flaxseed (for Omega 3s)
-Added "natural flavors"

There are also small differences in saturated fat, protein, sodium and types of sugar used.

Nice taste, less healthy

Bob's Red Mill

The new oat blend feels like it's got filler in it. And the new 'natural flavor,' which I'm assuming is the apple, has a real 'chemical' type taste. Really sad to see the old recipe go away for this subpar oatmeal. It feels like change to cut costs over quality.

Not Loving the New Recipe

My kids loved the old version of the apple pieces and cinnamon oatmeal and it was one of their favorite things to have for a quick breakfast. They won't eat this one and said yuck after one bite. Would love the previous product to come back! This new version also has more added sugar, which is disappointing. Love that it's certified gluten free still, but it's a bummer that they don't like it.

Decline in taste

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] for 8 grams of added sugar, i was expecting this to be more impressive.  as is, it's pretty boring. i might as well make plain oatmeal and add my own stuff to it.  the apple chunks were fine, but it would be much better if there was more apple flavor.  perhaps some apple powder mixed in instead of the imperceptible brown sugar.

underwhelming

Why the change?!?  Added sugars are higher and calories are now higher.  A big reason why I bought Bob's instant oatmeal was because it wasn't as sweet as the other brands.   I also liked that it had more texture, and was less mushy.   Please go back to the old formula!  I will not be buying this one.

Change is not always for the best.

Why do we need this "new" version when the old one with cholesterol-busting flax and nice chunky oats already existed? If I wanted something creamy (aka gooey) I would make my own from thos oat blend or just buy cheap Quaker. Please don't water down the quality of your oatmeal for people who must eat Gzf!

Poor formulation compared with red box

Bob's Red Mill Customer Service

I bought this since they seem to have discontinued the red box. I don't like super gloopy and sticky oatmeal, and the red box packets were the only kind I ever liked! This new box has two fewer packets and also much worse texture. It's very sticky and gloopy, and not appetizing. Why did they change the formula? I won't be buying this again.

Worse than old recipe, too mushy

Loved the old apples and cinnamon,  don't like this one at all.  Don't appreciate the added sugar. Less packages per box, my husband and I ate this everyday.  I'll be finding a replacement oatmeal sad to say.

Sad to say goodbye to Bob's redmill

I bought this yesterday and when I eat it I get a fairly strong apple seed flavor that isn't pleasant. It tastes like the entire apple was ground up to make it. Or possibly this is made from the leftovers after making applesauce or something. I don't know, it's not good though.
