This Boss Caresoft Medical Stool with Back Cushion is just what the doctor ordered. Literally requires no tools to set it up; done in 5 minutes. The chair itself is very comfortable. The seat padding is roughly 5 inches thick, but there is a support of some kind built in so you don't just sink into it. The back is adjustable "in/out," not "up/down," but it gives me (tallish) nice lumbar support. What I really like about it is the gas-operated height adjustment. I use it so sit at a workbench that has a large sewing machine next to it. I can rotate into position and easily move the chair's height to fit the two work areas so I can work comfortably for a change! Also, Walmart's "Ship to store" option works well for me. Convenient especially when a return is needed. Just take it to the regular return desk and as usual, no questions asked. Beats having to pay return shipping!

Sturdy, easy set-up, comfortable, versatile

walmart.com

I needed two chairs for a sound booth at church... the two we had were creaky metal stools, with no back support. These have the perfect range of height are comfortable and look professional. I am very happy with this purchase.

Met needs exactly as expected

I am not a tall person and I like to sit up high when I work at my computer.
This stool really does the trick for me.
Because it is high, though, I have to use a footstool.
Don't change the height, but maybe one could be made in the future with a footrest bar.
Thanx.
Love it.
Am considering one for a friend who has trouble rising from a low sitting position.

It's GRRRREAT !!

This stool went together in about fifteen minutes and only required a phillips head screw driver.
I use this stool to practice the guitar. It's comfortable to sit on for long practice sessions. I like that it has adjustable height. When I play my acoustic I have the stool all the way down. When I play my electric I have it all the way up and use the strap to support the guitar. I'm a big guy so the metal frame was important to me.
Also, it arrived faster than the original estimate.

Better Than Expected

This is soooo worth the money.

I make jewelry and use this in my studio - I move around the room - from soldering to design to assembly - and this is great. Very sturdy, and if I need the back off it comes off simply and goes right back on. The height easily adjusts from my desk to my work bench and back again.

I would recommend this if you need a versatile chair and don't want to spend a lot of money.

Great Chair

A bad back makes it difficult to stand at the sink and stove so bought this stool in order to sit and scoot around the kitchen to prepare meals. Works just as i had hoped. Moves easily from stove to counter to frig or cupboard. Seat elevates with a push of the lever so the user can be at whatever elevation they need at the moment. Just one word of caution. The casters roll so easily that one must be careful when sitting down not to be dumped on the floor.

I purchased this to replace a worn out stool in a medical office. The seat is very firm but it feels nice after using a worn out cushion. the stool does not lower as far as my last one which is inconvenient. The back is straight across..not curved..which seems odd. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

Works well

First, this is a very good buy, very sturdy and worth the money. I bought it to replace the stool that is just like it, for my kitchen. My complaint is that the back is set to close and I feel like I have to lean forward. It can not be adjusted back. If it was back a couple of inches or was adjustable, it would be much better. I have to sit exactly right in order to not be forward even more. Also, the seat is slick. I put a small towel on it and that helps some. The main reason I bought it is that it can be adjusted higher than most, but be careful, it rolls very easy. Don't try to bend over to pickup something on the floor unless you are sitting low and still, be prepared for it to roll out from under you.

Only one small complaint

Because of back problems, I ordered this stool to use in my kitchen. Maximum seat height is 26 inches which is a little low for working at 36 inch kitchen counters but will allow me to sit when needed. Stool was easy to assemble, looks nice, and rolls easily on smooth flooring. The stool feels sturdy and appears to be fairly well constructed. The seat measures 15 inches across. The seat is very hard so I plan to add a cushion. The back is removable and seat height is easily adjustable. The back adjustment is limited so might make the stool uncomfortable for some. Minimum seat height is 20 inches so I plan to use the stool when cleaning out the refrigerator and for other tasks which require bending. This stool is functional for short tasks but might be uncomfortable for long-term sitting.

Functional but the seat is hard

Chair is really designed for a tall person, I'm 6-1 and have to use it all the way in the lowered position, hence I lose the benefit of the air suspension. Back rest is perfect for leaning back and stretching, even getting a few pops every now and then, I love that! Cushion is ample thickness, twice my old chair, however.....after an hour or two of sitting my posterior feels as if I've been flogged for insubordination by my master, so disappointing!

Love and Hate

This stool did not meet my expectations. The stool seems to be built out of strong durable materials. However there is no foot rest. I'm 5' 11' tall at 165 pounds and my feet would not set flat on floor in the stools lowest position unless I scoot forward and not use the back rest. The stool was designed too tall for not having a foot rest. The thick hard foam seat cushion is uncomfortable if my feet cannot rest flat on the floor or on a foot rest. I was able to lower the seat another 2" to solve my problem by replacing the five floor wheels with metal skid feet which I happened to already have. I already have lower back problems. The back rest is comfortable and fits my back just right. However the back rest seems to have been made at the factory slightly tilted to the right which distracts it's appearance. I am keeping the stool for myself and will not return it. However I did change my mind about buying a second. I would not recommend the stool to anyone who can't or is unwilling to modify it.
