Im very particular about my coffee, I like to make one cup @ a time. I bought 2 one for my son. Most of the 1 cup makers are really expensive, these were a great price

I hate K-cup. Why would *anyone* want one of those horrible machines? I was looking for something to change from my Melitta filter cone where I just couldn't get a consistent coffee flavour. Then I saw this Brentwood brewer. Good price, I didn't need something for 12 cups, or 8cups or even six or four. My previous coffee maker has lasted over TEN years, a "Thomas", which was actually an espresso maker, but it made ONE CUP. It is still in the hands of my son and his mother, making coffee.

I have read complaints that the machine doesn't make 14 ounces of coffee. It says quite clearly: ONE cup. It even includes the cup. I read a complaint that the user couldn't fit that cup under the spout. What? Impossible. I can't fit a 12 ounce MUG under the spout. What would you expect? A CUP is 8 ounces. I have an eight ounce pitcher I was going to use for cream, instead I use it to measure out the water.

The other complaints: tasting like old burnt plastic? What did you do to it? I'll bet you turned it on without water! And you let it sit, and now it's burnt. Or you dumped the grounds into the reservoir. I suggest you clean it out well and try again.

A great cup of coffee, consistent flavour because of the included measure, and FAST. From dump the old grounds to take a sip is only four minutes. It's easy to clean and compact, taking up little counter space.

There is ONE problem. It makes such good coffee, that I'm drinking up to five cups a day now! Now you know the limitations of this product, but they are nothing compared to the benefit of perfect portioning.

I call my machine DARTH COFFEE -- because of its similarity to a certain movie character.

If you have a modern kitchen

Modern n Sleek!

I live in a 384 SQ foot place. Needed something smaller to make my one morning cup. This is perfect!  Takes up less space & brews a cup quickly. Some people have said it only takes the cup that comes with it. Well so what! The cup fits & it works, who could ask for more? The cup isn't made of plastic, no BPA worries.  So if you want to use your "favorite" mug, pour it into it.  I like the price & design shape as well.

Takes up little space & works great

I love this coffee maker. I just got rid of my 12 cup coffee maker as I live alone and only drink one or two cups of brewed coffee a day. It is compact and takes less space on my kitchen counter.  This compact coffee maker can also make two cups of coffee at the same time which was a nice surprise. Additionally, you don't have to purchase any filters for this machine as it comes with a reusable filter which has to washed after each use.  All in all, a good purchase if you only need one or two cups of coffee daily.

Simple makes my coffee in pretty much any mug I use some of my mugs are larger so I just take the bottom tray out have coffee your way hot it's perfect for me size wise living in a small camper awesome not taking up much space . Down fall is you have to turn it off and on manually

Great deal

no automatic shut-off; low clearance from spout to cup limits size of cup that can be used.  Spend the extra $10 and get the Black & Decker DCM 18S.  I had that one before. Worked great for a year until permanent filter wore out.  Problem there: couldn't buy replacement filter.  Still, if I had it to do over again, I'd buy the B&D over the Brentwood.

You get what you pay for

Put the average index finger on a table, put your thumb on that index finger's knuckle... guess what, that's the size of the cup!!!  Now make another cup and you now have enough coffee for a average coffee cup/mug.  The coffee maker is fine, but you have to run it twice to make a average cup of coffee.

Not  bad, but cup is too small!

The first few times I used the coffe pot it was fine. After that my coffee is now tasting like old burnt plastic. I brew a plain cup of water before my coffee to help with the taste and theres always black specks in the water and its not coffe it looks like plastic.

Yuck!!!

Aside from the tiny cup and inability to use a larger cup you need to remember to move the hot water arm in the unit over the coffee ground basket with every cup prepared.  Looks great! Easy to clean! No K-Cups allowed!  If you drink regular coffee, three tablespoons at a time, and like the challenge of paying close attention to being sure the hot water arm is properly positioned with each use you will love this product.

Slick looks.  Impractical.
