I told my son you should not start from 25 to 50 lb start with this set and work your way up good thing I convinced him to get the smaller lighter set first he can barely do this he would have never got the heavier weights up at all these are the ones you start with even if you don't start with them they're awesome to have for different workouts

I'm really happy with these adjustable dumbbells! I went from having a well stocked home gym with 3-30 lb dumbbells, a barbell with plates, resistance bands and kettle bells to basically nothing after moving across the country for a contract. I wanted to replicate my home gym without having to take up a ton of space in my apartment and also didn't want to invest hundreds of dollars since this will be temporary. 
Pros: you have a wide variety of weights with the option to adjust in 5 lb increments, these come assembled so you can use them straight away, they take up significantly less space than if you were to get individual dumbbells of each weight, it's easy to switch from one weight to the next.
Cons: they are obviously more bulky than traditional dumbbells (though I haven't yet noticed this to negatively affect ROM with any exercises,) if you are doing supersets and need to use different weights for each exercise you'll need to account for the added time it takes to change weights, every now and then the plates don't align perfectly so you have to kind of wiggle the dumbbell to put is back.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I'd recommend these to anyone wanting to build their at-home gym set up without breaking the bank. Before I bought these I had looked at similar options that were twice this price...and sometimes twice the price for ONE single dumbbell. These are definitely an excellent value.

Really good value compared to other sets like these. Easy to select the desired amount. Very good dumbbell set. Be sure to follow the instructions and keep an eye on the screws on the ends. Over time, just a little light maintenance here and there and they will be fine.

Great buy

The weights continue to fall off one side, regardless of whether I have a single weight or all the weights on one of the two dumbells.  
VERY frustrating.  And worst of all, it is very cumbersome to reassemble the weights onto the bar.  
Strong recommendation not to buy.  The weights fall on your feet or your body if you are laying down.  Total safety hazard.

Safety Issue

VERY DANGEROUS!! DO NOT BUY!!! After using on occasion for 8 months and taking good care of the weights the locking mechanism malfunctioned causing bruising, a gash and a need for stitches on my husbands face. This product needs to removed from the shelves! It is unsafe and very dangerous. If I could give these weights a zero I would.

One specific plate routinely falls off the handle. The handle picks up the plate from the cradle as expected and everything seems good, but with a little motion, it falls off.  Nearly fell on my foot. Damaged my floor.  The price was great and I was really excited about these, but unfortunately they're dangerous.

Caution - plate falls off!

The weights actually fall off all the time, great deal if you have really good health insurance or are looking to break a toe or a nose. Ridiculous for the price even on sale. Have yet to make it through a single workout without a weight popping off.

Poor quality:
Weight plates falling out when exercising from one of the dumbbell.  Luckily I was trying to test how stable was the dumbbells, otherwise it may have fell on my head if I do bench press. Returned them immediately.

Reviewing after 3 months of use. 

It was all good in the beginning until the iron plates started falling off. They just fall off randomly while working out. Luckily I didn't hurt my toes. Very POOR design and quality assurance.

DO NOT BUY

The plates fall off a lot, which is pretty unsafe. They're also difficult to put back on once they fall off. Definitely recommend going with another product.
