This kind of "Old fashioned" is my favorite. This sweet-salty flavor makes me think of my grandmother's good "bean"

One of the best baked beans available. The beans are tender and the sauce is savory and delicious.

Best beans with black pepper - less sweet and versatile. 
Good for breakfast - for meals & snacks

Variations:
add molasses and/or brown sugar
add maple syrup
add tomato paste or tomato sauce

Too sweet and too salty.  I have to wash the beans out in a strainer and then heat them up to be able to eat them.  Clark Company would save a lot of money on salt and sugar in order to make a better can of beans.

Why put on pork? With maple and tomatoes, without adding pork it is very good!

I bought several boxes; the beans are good but each time there was only one small piece of bacon. In addition, the bacon looked like poorly preserved jelly, really not appetizing! I contacted customer service who told me that they were complying with the regulations (at least one piece of fat per box).
