Exactly like the picture and description, mattress is a little thinker than most futons, but not by much. Futon was easy to assemble and lastly the price is great for the futon.

make sure when bolting frames to mechanism. Your panels should show the flat side up and pole side under. fyi: the retainer holes on the bottom seat is the top side.

Box came with tape removed but plastic strips in place.
The directions are, well, not clear. 
Once we put it together, it seems like a decent little futon. 
Expect to put some good effort in to build.

What you pay for

I was able to buy this on sale for $215 tax in. The futon mattress could be better, and it was a pain to put together but it will do for what we need it for. Not a good purchase if you need to use it long term.

Okay for price

Fits perfect where I needed it. Putting it together some of the screws wouldn't go in the holes. I had to try each one to see what would work. The last 3 screws I had to use a hole tapper to get the hole bigger to get the screws in. The mattress had a 3inch rip in it. Other than that it is pretty comfy for the price. I got grey color and it looks for black than grey.

Nice little futon

If I were younger I would recommend this to friends.  At 70+ it took me two days to put together and then I am a little slower than I used to be. The futon is comfortable, larger than expected but useful.  The only down side is its' height.  It sits a little no, a lot too low to the floor making it difficult to get up, other wise I love it.

Metal Arm Futon

First of all it took over 2 weeks to receive the futon after ordering online. Then upon assembly I had to order replacement parts for the connecting brackets because the pre-drilled holes were too small and the screws wouldn't go in. It took an additional 5 days to get the parts. The futon is hard to collapse into a couch from a bed, you have to put your foot on the frame underneath and pull the top to collapse it. The mattress seems like it would be comfortable and thick at first glance but after sleeping on it, it's very uncomfortable, but I guess it beats sleeping on the floor. If I had a choice to order this exact futon again, I wouldn't. I bought it because it was the cheaper option, which shows in quality and functionality. And customer service for DHP is a joke. They say you can call them to speak with an agent if you need help but they just refer you to their website instead, and are forced to communicate by email, and they are not helpful at all. The instruction video for the metal futon isn't even the same one I have and I still had to figure out the instructions on my own. Frustrating from start to finish!

Poor quality and functionality

Terrible Futon.  It is really small, a pain in the neck to put together and the futon mattress is an absolute lopsided piece of garbage.  I definately FO NOT RECOMMEND this product.  Pay more and get something better.  This is literslly the worst futon I have ever seen or purchased.

Terrible Futon!!  Mattress is atrocious.

This bed quality is cheap. The mattress doesn't sit right on the bed, when you lay on it, the other side raise up off the bed. Metal frame is cheap iron very fragile looking. And it takes way too long to set up, not all the required screws are in the package. And you're going to need a square head and a star head screwdriver to help with the assembling of this bed. To me not worth it at all!!
