This well known name provides sturdy thread that does the job.  An elderly family member uses it with her sewing machine and by hand.  She uses it with size 18 sewing machine needles that have the largest eye for threading.  It is mostly used for hemming resized clothing.  It's good to use on everyday fabrics.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Did not originally see this all purpose thread on my search. Though it said the item was available, turned out it wasn't, but the substitution, though a bit more expensive, was actually a better quality thread and still worked with the sewing machine.

I purchased a multipack of C%26C to finish a quilt and glad that I did; I went through 2 without having to go to the store again. This is an old stand-by and great quality product.

Perfect for home sewists

If you're using a sewing machine, do yourself a great favor and only buy this brand. I have been sewing professionally (seamstress) for over three decades and have found that this is the best brand thread. Other brands will pop/snap/break while you're sewing, causing you to have to stop right in the middle of a project to re-thread, which is time consuming. Other brands often get jammed in the inner bobbin case and cause huge knots in your thread right in the middle of sewing and will sometimes ruin your fabric, but this brand never does that.  Yes, this brand does cost about twenty percent more than the other brands (35% more if you shop any place other than Walmart), but I would gladly pay triple for this brand to avoid all the aforementioned 'sewing issues.'

The Only Brand of Thread I Will Ever Use

Very good quality thread. No shredding, separating, or creating little balls of fibres as you sew. Great color and good spool size for the price.

Yes, exactly what I was looking for!   Walmart please  keep carrying Coats  and Clark because they have always been a quality affordable product.

So happy you still have sewing thread and also happy to see some really pretty fabric.  The only thing is the yardage isn't what it used to be but at least you have some really pretty yard packages and also pretty fat quarters.  Better than nothing!

This thread is great for hand sewing. I was using the cheap stuff that comes in kits %26 this makes a huge difference!! Way easier to sew with it's got more sturdiness, %26 more strength
