This mattress is extra soft!! Honestly, a little jealous of my daughter! Every time I try to read to her and tuck her in I fall asleep in her bed!! I put it on top of the box spring and used it as though it was a regular mattress and it worked just fine. Not sure how it is with bars underneath ?!? But it's made of a nice material, and seems to be holding up!! Definitely worth the price !!

Definitely impressed!!

I am a disabled senior citizen that has been moving a lot.  All my personal items are in storage for at least (6) more months.   I have really had a hard row to hoe this past (3) yrs.  I have  NOT  had a regular bed all this time.  
Have had really good quality air beds, but I can't afford  to keep repairing and replacing them. So, I decided to try this futon mattress.  To my amazement I am truly happy with this decision.
It s firm, but forgiving... conforms and supports this ole' body.  Finally some real sleep that allows me to rest and heal properly.  Try it, you will like it!   In the near future I will most likely purchase a couple more for quests.  Just need to get it all moved to my new home.

8" full sized futon mattress is a God send!

I have had this futon mattress for a couple days now and I am very pleased with it. I find it very comfortable and easy to find a sleeping position that is also very comfortable. It gives enough space a single adult and has a pretty good cushion to it.
Please note, I am using this mattress ON THE FLOOR and not on a futon frame.

I like this product.

This is nominally an 8-inch thick mattress.  The measuring was apparently done by one of those insecure males who stand shorter than a tall woman yet self-report their own height at six feet. God knows what they might report about the length of their ...   well anyhow,  this "8 inch mattress" fit into a slipcover designed for an 8-inch mattress with about four inches left over.  

The color and quality of the mattress demands that the slipcover be used.  I wouldn't want the fabric the manufacturer provides to be only thing between a pile of compressed foam and the wear and tear imposed by my rambunctious family.

Less than described.

Overall, it's good enough for the kids to use in the game room. If you're looking for a mattress that can actually double as a guest bed (for adults) I would spend a little more money and get a mattress of a better quality. I thought it would be a lot more comfortable, that's why I specifically bought the 8 inch and not the 6 inch mattress, but I really can't tell the difference between this and our old 6 inch one. So, I am a little disappointed, but the kids are thrilled to have a mattress back on the futon so they don't have to squabble over the one armchair.

Good enough for the kids to use

Unfortunately this is not what can be called a mattress. Its not 8inches if its 5 thats being generous. The fill is two pieces of fiber fill that doesnt hold its shape and the button tufting is hard sharp plastic that needs to be covered or it pokes you. Ill be finding something else to replace this item.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Delivered today to chicago area, glad that was sunny day on October, Otherwise it would be a disaster for mattress, because it came in a plastic bag, NOT in a box, i do mot know it supposed to come like that or a box just disappeared on a way here. Thrown away outside of 3 level apartment, outside building, glad that was no rain today. What if a buyer couldn't carry it to 3rd floor?! If delivery means just “delivery NEAR to your apartment “ then you guys need to clarify it. Because i am expecting my order to my house or door!!! 1 star for delivery and 2 star for mattress because its not an 8 inch as described

Not an 8 inch. Delivered and thrown away in a bag

Thought the inside was going to be 2 inch foam surrounded by cotton batting....NOT..instead it is two of what looks like foam and some cotton batting pressed together into a 2 inch foam mat although there are two of these mats held together with stays after laying on them for a couple nights they bunch out of shape and the support is minimal very minimal... The reason I ordered this was the picture that showed the 2 inch foam surrounded by cotton batting, NOT WHAT YOU GET so beware...VERY disappointed!!!

Looked great at first not what I expected!!

Bought this for the bottom bunk in my son's room. I know futon mattresses are not expected to be great or fantastic, but we have a 2 year old sleeping on this mattress for about a week now and it has already got a major lump in his spot. I thought this would at least last him a couple of years at his age, but it will not. It is extremely hard, I laid on it and I thought the floor was more comfortable. It doesn't go back into shape after he has been off it awhile either. I will try a memory foam on top of it maybe or just buy a real mattress next time. I already tried extra blankets but it didn't help at all.

A better idea, buy a real mattress.
