We have 2 daughters. 11 & 3 years old. The beds are working out perfect. We were concerned about the height of the beds. It said 86" in height but, that was not correct. After reading the comments about the size, we decided to continue with our order. Very glad for the comments and very thankful that the bunkbed is working out GREAT!!!

Great for the price

I purchased this bed after realizing I could not purchase the bed I wanted from a more expensive store. Assembly was fairly simple and I managed on my own; however, if you have someone to help you will go more smoothly. Color is nice; all parts and hardware is included. My 5 year old was very excited with the finished product-I just have to remind him it is not a jungle gym!

Nice bed for small ones!

The bed we received had a manufacturing defect as a section of the rail holes did not aligned and could not be connection via the hardware. It was too much trouble to return and wait for another so we fixed using two metal hose hose clamps.

OK-not sturdy enough

We purchased this bunk bed online through Walmart and had shipped to our home. Shipping was faster than expected.

Pros:
The bed was packaged very well in a sturdy box with all of the parts labeled, individually wrapped in plastic and well protected from being scratched. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and all of the fasteners were packaged in one container and clearly identified. The only tool required per the instructions is a Phillips screwdriver.

I started assembly of the bunk bed with the help on my wife and 2 boys, everything went smoothly, the parts fit together well and the pictures in the instructions were large and clear making it easy to figure out the correct orientation of the parts.

Cons:
When we got to the step in the instructions to attach the rails that will support the slats, connect the ends together and provide an attach point for the top side rail and ladder, that part was missing. This particular rail is different in that it has mounting points for the ladder and upper side rail. What we had was 3 of the bottom rails instead of 2 bottom rails and the one upper ladder side rail. So what I ended up doing was drilling the missing holes in the rail to mount the upper safety rail and ladder. The good thing about drilling the holes myself was that due to the layout of the boy's room we decided to put the ladder at the foot end of the bed instead of the side. Having to drill the missing holes was really not a big deal, however, if someone without a drill or the ability to modify this standard rail ran into this problem they would either have to do without the ladder and upper safety rail or postpone assembly until they received the replacement part. …and who knows how long that would take.

Assembly Suggestions:
Once assembled this bed is a little shaky. This little bit of movement overtime would certainly result in the fasteners becoming loose. What I did was assemble the bed with the fasteners just snug, then once completely assembled I measured the diagonals to square up the whole thing then tightened each fastener. In order to combat the inevitable loosening of the fasteners, I then removed one fastener at a time, applied Loctite thread locker to it, and then re-installed the fastener and once again tightened it down. I did this procedure to each fastener in the bed. I also fashioned straps to secure the bed to the wall at the head and toe.

Time will tell how this bed holds up to our two boys, but I feel that taking the extra precautions to avoid excessive movement and subsequent loosening of the fasteners should dramatically extend the life of this reasonably priced bunk bed.

Great for the Price

We needed more floor space in our girl's rooms. We were very much on a budget. The bed is fairly easy to put together. All parts were there. The overall quality is fair. The ladder hurt their feet, so we became creative and used water noodles and rapped them in a funky design of duck tape, that seems to correct the problem. We have only had beds for a week and they are still standing. If you are on a tight budget and need beds, I would recommend, but If you can afford a better quality, then I would recommend you purchase a higher end bed. I hope this review helps other parents.

A little disappointed in the quality

I did site-to-store shipping with this bed and made the mistake of not opening the box until I got it home, where I saw that 3 of the 4 main posts of the bed were bent so severely that there was no way of using them. Those 3 posts are made of some sturdy metal and it took some doing to bend them in that way. That was especially odd to me, since the box they came in was not damaged at all. There were many smaller, thinner pieces in the box, none of which were damaged. The 3 pieces were damaged BEFORE being placed in the box. I called the company to order spare parts and was told that it would take 10-14 days to receive them. After 2 weeks had passed, I called again to check on the status and was told that those particular parts were out of stock and they could not give me any sort of time frame as to when I would receive them. I finally decided to return the bed to Walmart and they took it back, even though I had thrown the outer box away. I believe this would have been a nice bed had it not been damaged in the factory and thrown into the box to be shipped out anyway. I would order another one but it's a gamble whether or not I will receive a useable product.

Frustrating!

This bed is too flimsy and the worst part are the super slim ladder rails. Theyre so slim that my grandkids said it hurts their feet when going up and down. I had to put some cardboard on them to minimize the discomfort on their little feet. I definitely do not recommend this bed. You get what you pay for.

Dont wast your money.
