I love them. The colors are great, the strength is awesome; they get softer with wash! It's great to have quality on your body; you can really feel the difference. The only thing i'd say is; be sure to size UP; these run small. I usually wear a size 31x28 but in these I always get 34x28 and they fit perfect. IDK why the big difference in sizing, but there's a big difference. Trust me. I own every color. It's my work-uniform.

Tough pants that I have purchased for 40 years. Can use as slacks and then as work pants when worn down. WATCH THE SIZE! This latest batch seemed MUCH more snug and I'm the same size as the last batch. Might purchase an inch bigger around the waist if getting the original.

Waist tight tough pants

Really good work pants, but definitely need to get worn in to be comfortable. Also, make sure to order at least an inch over your usual waist. I'm typically a 30x32, the 30s are way too tight for me, the 31s I have are a little tight but have been getting better over the last few wears. If you use fabric softener they loosen up a little too. These feel more rugged than the flex version of the work pants, which is nice for work situations but could be tough for an all day pair of pants if it's too humid out or if it rains.

Pretty good, some minor flaws

Always loved Dickies Original 874 Work Pants. Benn wearing them since the late 90's. 
The size I have always worn was 40" waist x 28" inseam. Something changed about the sizing. Although I lost weight, when I ordered new pants 40" w x 28" inseam about a year ago, they didn't fit. I thought this was just a fluke. I ended up donating them as opposed to returning them. My thought was it must've been a mistake in manufacturing. I continued to wear my old pants for another year. I recently placed an order, again waist size 40" and inseam 28". Again, they didn't fit. I was measured by a tailor who came up with a waist size of 39". Not sure what changed in the manufacturing process.

Dickies Original 874 Work Pants

Item was good quality, but waist is much smaller than other men's size 30 I've gotten, even from other dickies pants. Would definitely recommend sizing up

Good quality, runs small

The material and workmanship are good but as others have said the sizing is all over the place.  They have no quality control and no size standardization.  What size your pants are depends on what country it was made in. I ordered a 48 (and they are labeld 48) because of this problem and the pants I received are the exact same size as the pair of 44s I already had. They are a 44, not a 48 as labeled.  The company has gown down considerably since selling the name. I would not recommend unless you are buying in store.

Sizing is Horrible.  They Just don't care

I have been wearing these pants for more than half of my life and I am very close to 80.  In fact you couldn't get a piece of paper between me and 80.  But lately I have noticed that the belt loops have gotten smaller.  I bought a 1 &1/2"  Dickies Work Belt that just squeezes into the loops and if you have extra belt sticking out there is not enoughh room to tuck it into the loop.  These are supposed to be work pants yet they don't fit a Dickies Work Belt.  I am getting disappointed.

Not as happy as in the past.

Unfortunately i will be returning these pants. It has been 15 years since i have bought dickies for my daily pants. For some reason the sizing of the pants does not comply with waist and inseam numbers in inches. I will have to find a store to try some on to see what size i wear. It seems to me this would be universal measurements in inches but there is no logic in the waist to inseam numbers you apply to your pants!

Sizing

The first pair I was sent by Dickies had manufacturing defects. These pants fit much smaller than a true waist size is. Expensive and not worth the money.

The waist size on 874 is at least 3 sizes smaller than the standard waist size that is followed by any other clothing manufacturer. Other reviews indicate that the sizing may be inconsistent so I will not be taking my chances on a larger size. Dickies should seriously consider reviewing their quality control standards.
