Bring Back the Gel pillows

I had been successfully using the nasal gel pillows for almost 2 years, with zero issues. Suddenly my provider sends me this new replacement and tells me it's an improved version and I have nothing but leaks. I've been sleeping terribly and have been sick due to no sleep due to having apnea episodes. When you're on your side - even with a special CPAP pillow - the cushion comes out of your nostrils and there are so many more air leaks. I don't know what we can do to get the original gel pillows back but this was a very bad design decision. did the company even consider customer response? I'm so frustrated.

Horrible replacement for Gel pillows

My sleep center sent me this pillow instead of the gel pillows, and this silicone pillow leaked air all night. I have large nostrils and the pillow did not create a good seal, subsequently, I experienced the worst sleep in months. I hope this pillow is not replacing the gel pillow because you would have a very frustrated customer on your hands.

This is a poor replacement for gel pillows

Leaks air. AHI rising.  Waking up frequently.  No matter how much you adjust straps or reposition the pillows. As soon as you turn on your side, it's going to leak.  The nasal pillows are hollow so they collapse without making a seal with the nostrils.  The only way to get a modest (but still leaky) seal is to tighten up your headgear to the point that your nose is smushed upward into an uncomfortable position. Even then, it still leaks.  The gel pillows actually kept their shape and worked well. I used them for 4 years, now they're impossible to find. These silicon pillows might use less material but they just don't work.

The gel pillows were great, what's up with this horrible, leaky, non functional ‘replacement'?  Tried for a week and have given up.  Switching to the slightly less inferior competition I guess.  What other choice is there now?  Please bring back the gels!!!

Pathetic replacement for gel pillows

The gel cushion wasn't broke, yet you felt the need to fix it.  I received this flimsy, silicone pillow from my provider instead of the gel cushion.  There's too much air loss when using the silicone version. I've always used a size small, even before the gel cushion version.  When the small silicone pillow arrived, I thought it was for a child.  It's significantly smaller than the small gel cushion.  Did you educate your accounts on this revision?  If so, that information was never passed along to the end-users.  I will have to research alternative brands/options if the gel cushion is no longer available.

AWFUL

Long time CPAP wearer, and Respiratory Therapist.  Pressure Ulcer on first night, very flimsy "silicone" = more resistance to exhale against.  Loved my Dreamwear nasal "Gel" cushions.  Told they discontinued Gel and moved to silicone.  Actively looking for a new mask

Hate it! Bring back the Gel Pillow

I'm in the same boat as a lot of other reviewers. This replacement product for the gel pillow cushion is AWFUL. It doesn't stay on and leaks A LOT. It took me 4 different types of masks to find the gel pillow cushion that was PERFECT for me. Since finding out the gel pillow cushion isn't available anymore, I already tried other options that my provider has and of the other options don't work for me. So now what do I do? I'm beyond frustrated because as a CPAP user, it's hard to get good sleep without the right mask. Philips, why did you get rid of the gel pillow cushion? Supply chain issues? What do we, as users, need to do to get the gel pillow cushion back??

Horrible Replacement Option

I was so angry when I was sent this inferior replacement product to your gel pillows I've used for years. They don't seal. They fit horrible. They are so obviously cheaper to make, but the problem is the flood of users that are going to leave your brand for another week cause a greater loss then what you were trying to save by changing them. I'm so angry I have to go through the process of finding a new system. Phillips you have let me and many others down!

Does not seal, unusable

I complained to my provider for switching from gel cushions to these silicone pillows.  I've been using the gels for at least 4 years.  I was told the gel cushions have been discontinued.  Why, I will never understand.   As other reviewers have overwhelmingly agreed, these leak no matter how you adjust the mask.  The gel cushions were FAR superior.  I had the worst sleep in years thanks to these “pillows”.  Not only did they leak and collapse all through the night, but because the silicone was laying right on my upper lip, I was constantly waking up sweating enough that I had to keep wiping my lip.  PLEASE bring back the gel cushions.  I'm sure these silicone things are are cheaper to make, but a good night's sleep is worth the extra cost!!  Come on, Philips.  Listen to your customers.

Zero stars if I could

I have been a CPAP user for 15+ years. I used the gel pillows for many years without problems. The all-silicone pillow is flimsy. It doesn't create a firm seal over the nostrils. Any side motion while I'm asleep causes the flaps to bend out and create a valve effect that leaks air around the mask. This invariably wakes me up and provokes the sleep apnea effect that I was using a CPAP to avoid. I'm probably waking up every 30 to 60 minutes per night at least. This isn't CPAP. It's CRAP!

Repeat: Terrible Replacement for gel pillow

Hey everyone I was nervous about the change too. But I am sleeping even better now with the silicone pillows and my leak rate had dropped significantly. Take the time to wear them for awhile and once you adjust I think you will be pleased. I am sleeping really well.

I was concerned but the new silicone is better!
