Exactly what is advertised. I was a little caught off guard with the differences in texture/length of shag in parts but my daughter loves it so that's all that matters. It is thin in certain spots (i.e., the background of the design) so if you're looking for a shaggy/thicker rug you'll need to look elsewhere. 

I would recommend shaking some baking soda on it, leaving it sit, then vacuuming it off since the packaging smell is STRONG (chemically, almost sweet). We did it with the other rug we purchased from Walmart and it helped significantly!

Ultimately very happy with the rug and would recommend if you're looking for a lowkey one.
