I used to buy just the regular sweetened condensed milk and I have recently tried the low fat, sweetened condensed milk and in the recipes that I use it in I can't tell the difference so I think from now on I will continue with the low fat, sweeten condensed milk!

I have been on the hunt for the best Keylime Pie recipe and I found one online called Keylime Pie #7. Well I definitely trumped that recipe and made Keylime Pie #8 using double the amount of zested lime and Eagle Brand Low Fat Sweetened Condensed Milk. You can't tell the difference in taste but it does mean the calories are a little lower so you can eat more pie!! I also use it in my pumpkin pie recipes too, it's a big hit in my household.

I use Eagle Brand condensed milk mainly for baking.  Since I prefer to use healthier options if possible, I substituted Eagle Brand Low Fat Condensed Milk in my dessert recipes.  The recipes turned out perfectly, and I was happy to have made my desserts a bit healthier with no change in quality or taste.

I usually buy condensed milk to make 3 leches cake and rice pudding. Always have to use half of can because if you make 3 cake leche you know if will be too sweet with all the ingredients added and all the fat in the full cream, milk and condensed milk. This  time I make the dessert with a full low fat can ( it is a little runny ) taste great with less sugar and fat for my taste.

I always use the reduced fat version in my baking and it doesn't change the taste at all.  I love eagle brand sweetened condensed milk, it is worth paying the extra 30 cents over store brand as the less expensive versions can be gluey, or have crunchy bits in the bottom of the can! Not worth taking a chance, with eagle brand I know it will come out perfect.

As Good As The Original

I've always used Eagle Brand products, and I'm an avid baker so I've used quite a few and for taste, mixing and using ease it's the best. I am impressed with this Low Fat version of my regular Sweetened Condensed Milk.
