the notebinders function as described. unfolds flat and helps prevent pages from ripping out. The only con I have is a few times when I remove the notebinder from my backpack a ring is opened. I believe the issue is sometimes the notebinder gets squashed in my backpack when I over stuff it. Hint to Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Material Engineers: Maybe metal rings with a spring load latch which will allow the same type of locking and unlocking mechanism will prevent my issue.

My son is in high school and has used the same binders for two years! They are that durable! We purchased two more this year due to different classes he was taking. He doesn't want to use any other binder! I wish they had more colors to choose from. That's our only negative for these binders!

I would absolutely buy this product again!

I've always wanted the portability of a notebook that I could rearrange the pages in at will. This is that notebook. It's fantastic. Super easy to write in, and when I feel like it I sort all of my notes pages into their different sections. It's super satisfying. This product also looks great. I got the solid black and put my own neon dividers inside. The only drawback is I wish it would work for a 2inch or 3inch binder, but I think the limit of the design is probably at 1.5 inches. At any rate, the larger size is definitely worth it.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LI-I-I-I-FE??

I use this product as I would a binder. The difference is that this book is like a notebook. This gives a better feel and fit that I was looking for. My papers are well secure and I have room for all my papers because there are folders included inside the notebook.

This product is everything I expected of it.

Some of my classes would require just a few sheets after a semester of work and other classes could take up 2 parts of a 3 subject notebook. I am a collage student and although I liked how customizable binders are, I needed something flexible that can fold back like a notebook when taking notes in class. This has the best of both worlds. I am able to take notes easily in the small desk space, yet able to add in handouts later on. I can add additional sheets when necessary and take away what's needed without wasting any paper which is a huge plus

I will never go back to notebooks.

I've purchased several varieties of notebooks and binders over the years. None match the quality I have found with this 5 Star Notebook. I am not sure it could be made any better.

Excellent Quality Binder

Product used by 8th grade boy for school. After an entire school year (2015-2016) the binder does not have any rips/tears and looks almost as good as the day of purchase. My son has actually used the included dividers for three of his classes, but has a total of ten dividers. After the year, we have noticed that a benefit would be to offer larger sizes (2" & 3"). Another benefit would be extending the length of the binder because some of the papers extend beyond the binder itself. **Overall, this binder was worth the money. The quality is exceptional. It has stood up to a kid who had binders replaced three times in the following school year.**** I am a fan!!!!

A Binder that Really Holds Up

Useful in organizing handouts from teachers and homework. I use this for my college french class, so I've created a vocab section in the back, and handouts and homework folder sections in the front. It's a little bit awkward to close if I am using paper toward to back because you have to flip all the paper back over and the rings are large and a little bendy but it's really not that inconvient.

Seriously improving my organization

It is great for organizing papers and the dual use as a notebook and binder is great. Flipping through pages gets a bit difficult because of the 3 rings are not completely round but I have gotten used to that.

A great investment

my son has 2 he uses for eighth grade and by the end of first semester one of them had 2 broken rings from normal daily use. I bought 2 more for a replacement and a spare in case it happens again. otherwise the flex folder works wonders for organization and light weight

lasted one semester

5th grader using daily finds flaws in the design and construction of the Five Star Flex® Hybrid NoteBinder. The rings are initially hard to open and then break down over repeated use. This causes the rings to slide open unexpectedly and get caught when it is being inserted/removed from the student's bag. The plastic rings bend easily causing a misalignment and allowing the paper and folders to slide out easily. The included folders are cheaply made and are breaking at the ring holes with only a few months of daily use.

Issues with more than half a year to go
