I bought the classic Kånken in Foliage Green, and I absolutely love it. The colour is beautiful — subtle but still stands out. It fits my iPad Air, planner, Kånken Pen Case (the sturdy one), and a Gear Bag perfectly. All my essentials fit neatly inside, with just enough space to close comfortably.

I've been using it for over a year now, mostly for sightseeing around the city, and it's been incredibly practical. I've even joked that it looks a bit like a purse — even though I'm a man — but honestly, I don't mind at all. It's just that convenient and comfortable to carry.

In the front pocket, I like to keep my card wallet and keys for easy access. I also added a red Kånken keyring as a little charm on the small pocket zip, which gives it a nice personal touch. It's sturdy, practical, and just the right size for everyday use.

Looks like a purse, but I love it anyway

I have purchased 5 of these backpacks over the years for 5 of my nieces and nephews who live in a remote location in a developing country across the world. These bags have endured 5 international journeys and countless flights/trips into the jungle, as well as the rough hands of children, ages 6 and under. They are the perfect size for young kids to wear, but also to place their needed and treasured items in for easy and independent access during long trips. My brother and his wife love the responsibility and freedom it allows their kids during their travels. But ultimately, the backpacks hold up so nicely. They aren't falling apart, they don't retain dirt, and they have been exposed to all sorts of weather and rough conditions. They will continue to be used until outgrown, then passed down to other cousins or even generations. I could not recommend this more.

Long lasting through international travel

Bought the grey fog/striped over 2 years ago as a small trip bag and ended up using it everyday as my go to bag/purse and have taken it on many trips and adventures. The things I love most about this bag is that it holds a lot more for its size than it looks! I can fit my 40oz hydro flask, books, wallet/passport, keys, phone, makeup bag, sunglasses, lotion/sunscreens and even a small travel towel for the beach or a small sweater or cardigan.
The other thing I love most about it is that it is extremely durable I'm rough with it and toss it around and it's still holding up. I have also walked/hiked in rain for long periods and have had no issues with the bag leaking inside! Last but not least is it is comfortable to wear even with a full pack it has never caused me any pain or body aches from long all day wear! The only thing I would mention is that after a few years the light grey color has dulled/stained and now looks dirty even when it's washed. Not really an issue seeing that that's only due to natural wear but next time I go to replace it I believe getting a darker color will help the bag stay looking nicer even longer. (Something to think about if you want a certain color but want the bag to stay nice looking over time)

My Favorite Everyday Bag!

I've had it for a few years and take it everywhere with me. It holds up really well and mostly, I'm fond of the memories and especially how I can pack it to the brim, knowing well that the zippers won't come undone or that I'll rip a seam.

I've stuffed a whole hooded puffer jacket and merch into it at a concert venue when I didn't want to leave my bag at the coat reception. It just holds SO much for its size.

Holds up

I bought one because my old Jansport bag was getting worn out. This backpack is worth the price. I like the lightness of the backpack which allows me to put in many items without weighing down the bag and making it heavy. I always had a problem with my wallet making my bags really heavy even when it is the only item in the bag. But I didn't have that problem with the Kanken. As someone who has struggled with back pain since I was child due to heavy backpacks and some minor car accidents, this backpack has now become my favorite due to being easy on my back. I'm thinking of buying the bigger version of the bag in the future.

One of the best

I purchased my first kanken mini backpack it's crazy how much you can fit into it and it being a mini I got the black with ox red handles I like the size I don't need a big bag even though I do have a laptop my I also have an iPad 9.7 which fits in the bag perfectly with a notebook and my wallet and still have room made well love carrying it my the top handles love the storage and everything else it's perfect bag to go anywhere with.

Love this bag

My mom gave my this backpack for Christmas and I use it as a purse. It Is much more spacious than I thought it would be in all of my stuff fits with leftover room. I plan on getting a normal sized backpack in the spring as a graduation gift. And I plan to tell all of my friends about it I love my backpack!

I LOVE MY BACKPACK!

I bought this as a Christmas gift for myself. I was SO excited as I know others that have this bag so I knew the quality. I absolutely LOVE the bag but HATE the straps. I'm 5'4” and wear an XL and feel like I'm wearing a 4 year olds backpack with how short the straps are and how high the bag sits on my back. I will be returning the bag unfortunately strictly due to the short straps. Bummer. Really love the sky blue color. Wish it just had a tad bit longer straps.

LOVE the backpack HATE the straps.

My wife received one as a gift. The straps are nothing like the photos. No smaller strap near the bottom for securing excess strap and no d-ring near the top for attaching their strap pad add ons. 

Will come back to edit review if the bag holds up or not. She received it as a gift from friends who have had their minis for a very long time so we will be able to compare them next time we see them. 

As of now though, seems like they are cheaping out on materials for their bags which is unfortunate.

Bag is not as depicted

I bought the peach pink and it is red - there's nothing pink about it. I am worried about the longevity of the colour as well, as there's already visible fading along any folds or edges of the bag right out of the package.
