This watch is capable of so many things! From fitness tracking, to work outs, swimming, receiving notifications, to sleep tracking! I absolutely love mine and the smaller size fits my wrist perfectly. I've accidentally hit the fave of the watch many times, and the glass seems impenetrable! No scratches or cracks!

Bought to replace an older Forerunner 945. I like that it is slightly smaller, and it has all the features that I used in the more expensive model. The main difference is battery life with this one - noticeably less. But, it works for a full day of recording an activity before needing recharge. I also like that this newer model tracks HRV.

Solid watch

Great watch. I opted for the 255s versus the regular 255 because the watch face of the 255 is larger than what I was used to. I prefer the size of the 255s watch face, but one thing that caught me by surprise is the size of the band. I think my wrist is about 16.5 cm, and the watch band is slightly shorter than my old Vivoactive. It still fits fine, but if my wrist were more than a cm larger, you might need a longer band.

I love my Garmin Forerunner 255s   I love the features and the durability of this sporty piece.  Of course because my Garmin App I am motivated to be more active and actually try new things because of the challenges Garmin offers. Cant go wrong with this company!

Keeps me goin

Beautiful Garmin, The grey and black is a good combo. has all the advanced running features at a price point that can't be beat! Has mulit sport mode for the enthusiast, Sleep tracking and HRV tracking, This thing does it all. The size is good at 41mm it is comfortable to wear all the time. the small print though is a little too small and reminds me to put on my glasses. The display while in activities mode is large enough and I have no complaints. Its a 5 stars but my eyes are the problem. Enjoy!

Great option for the money

I've had my Garmin 255s for about 3 years. I am a swimmer. Recently, 3 times, it has counted swim calories an remarkable amount of 10 to 12,000 calories for a 2500 to 3000 yard swim! 
  I disconnected the phone and reconnected through the Garmin app. It works correctly for several weeks, then I have to repeat.
  Also, it tracks my route when Hiking or walking, but also didn't record that data when I hiked 6 miles at the Grand Canyon in June.
  It is accurate with my heart rate. 
  I'm open to resources, and kind suggestions. Thank you

Swimming data

Sooo disappointed w/the lack of color in the display, %26 how hard it is to read w/o the backlight on!  (I have only used it inside my house, since I'm mostly homebound. )  I had to increase the amount of time the backlight stays on, so the battery needs charging every 7-8 days.  I wish I'd gotten the 265s, although someone said you can't see the screen with a flashlight, so I'd think it'd be the same with bright sun on it?

 My nurse said the heartrate is very accurate, %26 pulse ox. is pretty accurate (may be off up to 3%).  I feel the same whether it says my Body Battery is 5% or 96%, but I do have CFS.  Not sure why it says I've climbed 4 floors when I haven't climbed any.  The alarm's volume is way too low to wake me up.

The sleep tracking is horrendous!  It often overestimates my sleep by hours, when I'm sitting in a recliner watching tv %26 using my laptop.  Sometimes it says I got no sleep at all when I slept 8 hrs.  I'm up hourly to use the bathroom, %26 sometimes it logs part of my sleep as a nap.

I do appreciate being able to track HRV, see text messages %26 send a pre-written reply, how long until sunset, date, day of wk., being able to find my cellph., %26 being able to see what time it is while in the shower.

Sreen lacks color %26 sleep tracking is horrible!

I bough this as a backup for the music version of this watch. I found I didn't use the music as much as podcasts and audio books on Spotify.  I now carry my phone.  Easier for me to see.

Great features and battery life fr255

I enjoyed using my 255S for about one year but it started crashing. I have tried rebooting, software updates etc. After each reboot it works for a couple hours and then stops. Would have expected a more durable product, very disappointed.
