This chest strap is perfect for recording heart rate during runs/walks.  The wrist based sensor is so unreliable and always recorded my heart rate much higher than it actually was, thus throwing off my entire metrics.  With the HRM 200, there is no sudden spikes, cadence lock and temperature fussiness that I experienced with my watch.  The chest strap was a very good buy!

Garmin

I bought the HRH 200 with the Concept2 rowing machine.  The monitor works perfectly, integrating with the rower so that I can monitor my heart rate while rowing.  It comfortable to wear while rowing and would probably work well with other activities as well.  Great product!

Great Monitor!

Greatly improves accuracy of heart rate reporting. Slightly confusing setup instructions - hard to tell if it is working vs. wrist monitoring. Overall, I am quite happy with the results. 

I have low BP and I am not sure if that impacts HR reporting - I have noticed that the wrist function shorts me of my cardio results, and am really happy to have the more accurate HR info to support training.

Works well / more accurate than wrist reading

Finally after about 13years my HRM1G monitor refused to work and retired to the circular haven bin. The old model was absolutely bullet proof and comfortable...but tech limited. Being cheap I purchased the lowest costing HR monitor and I'm not sorry. It gives me all the 411 I need. Only thing I don't like is the fastener...and that is personal preference. I just liked the old HRM1G way of attaching. Other than that OMG perfect and respectfully priced.

Out with the old...new with the new

I have had two Garmin HRMs previously.  I bought this because I constantly got inconsistent and erroneous readings with the other two.  A few months after I purchased the HRM 200 I had the same experience.  My HR would go from 125 to 67 bpm.  I tried all the suggestions on the website and finally called support.  The woman I spoke to checked my readings and was willing to order a replacement but asked that I try one last thing - wet the contacts before I rode.  I did this and so far so good.  If this keeps up, I'll change my rating to five stars.

Running metrics are fun data points (stride length, L/R balance, cadence, etc.) without having to carry a phone or wear any other devices. Strap quality and sensors are definitely better quality than my old Garmin HR strap. Haven't tried it with rugby yet but excited to give it a try on the pitch this season. My only real issue is that I've had a couple heart rate lock readings that were 20-30 bpm above my real HR. Removing for a moment and putting the strap back on has fixed it so far

Solid upgrades

My Garmin Venu S2 was not measuring my heart accurately when I used a recumbent bike when I couldn't bike for real outside.  This device worked great after over an hour of trying to get it to function. The instructions from Garmin did not work.  After repeated failed attempts, it was Reddit users who explained how they got it to connect.  Now, it works it's fine, but it was frustrating.   Garmin needs to invest far more effort in user testing and to pay attention to what their own users are saying in social media about their products.  It's crazy to me that a company that large would be so invisible online to issues its users are experiencing. Crickets from Garmin while their users try to figure it out without them.

Good luck getting it to sync

Less than two months of use and the device is consistently returning non-usable, erratic data (HRs from 30-487 bmp within seconds of one another).  

Troubleshooting tips from Garmin have been followed repeatedly with no improvements. 

Reaching out to Beach Camera to hear return/replacement policies now.

Totally unreliable.   Much worse than my HRM Dual that fell apart after only a few years of use.   HR reading gets stuck all the time, either dropping to some ridiculous low value or spiking to some absurd high value -- for several minutes at a time -- despite constant power output and perceived effort.

Lame

I bought this a few months ago and still can't see where my heart rate data is. The heart rate on connect app doesnt register. After a few minutes there is no green light blinking and I have to turn it back on. I followed the set up and it says connected on connect app and forerunner 245 but I have no heart rate data after my workouts.

Very disappointed
