Economical Way to Make Dog Food

Advertised as ground turkey, is actually minced turkey. Works well for small meatballs in a pasta dish. Sealed well to protect freshness when frozen.

Minced or Ground?

Texture was more mushy than the ground meat on styrofoam but so what? It browns up fine and tastes nice. Next time I will make patties but that will need bread crumbs or something because it's rather sticky due to the very fine grind. The low price was my initial motivation. Perfectly adequate.

Serviceable Ground Turkey

Good product

Lean

An inexpensive protein source that is lean and versatile.  May seem “squishy” when thawed, but I made burgers with just spices - no egg or fillers - and the texture/flavour was very good.  Tip: remove packaging while still frozen (slice and peel) for no mess/loss.

Good value for lean protein

I purchased this as part of a home delivery and it came frozen, the instore version is chilled. If you're expecting it to have the texture of ground beef you'd be wrong, it's more of a puree. I've fried it plain with seasoning (salt, pepper, garlic powder) and it makes for a great burger. Adding breadcrumbs and egg to bind will make great meatballs as well as turkeyloaf. All in all if the price of ground beef has you down this is an excellent alternative!

Decent ground beef substitute

Online it says it's EXTRA lean ground turkey. However, when I picked this up from Walmart with my pick up order it's LEAN and not EXTRA lean. If I wanted lean I would buy lean. The whole point of buying this item was to get extra lean meat. Extra Lean, via the online listing is 8g of fat. Lean is 17g, DOUBLE what I believed I was purc i'm This isn't the only ground turkey that has this issue. Shameful that this happens. CHANGE YOUR DESCRIPTION ONLINE OR GET THE PROPER ITEM IN.

Gotta keep it frozen for some reason and when thawing, the packaging leaks.
