Bought this Google Nest Mini 2nd Gen Smart Speaker for my mother and it works great.  She will always be able to know the weather, what day it is and the time too.  So handy for seniors!

Great Little Device!

I used to think of this as a gimmick device but with more 10 smart bulbs/fans/tv/vacuum and a black friday deal, we finally decided to buy one. And we could immediately see the benefit in controlling all our smart devices.

Previously any visitors to our home needed to be given google home access but now they can be just given voice command to turn off/on certain device. 

We also use it for checking weather.

It is good and I like to use it in conjunction with A..a. It has strength and weaknesses.
S: For smart devices it is far more forgiving (than other similar smart speakers such as A...a) in matching names.
S: Can make phone calls easily.
W. Mildly annoying in keeping replying no matter what (A..a can be disabled for feedback).

Good for smart speaker.

I ended up getting three of these! It's awesome, good sound, responsive microphone. I'm hooked on buying things for my house so google can control them for me! It can read you your calendar, messages, emails, play your music, control TV/lights/outlets/whatever!

Helpful for around the house/personal organization

We hade the first generation for years and when it became obsolete, my wife had no one to go to for her questions and support. It was like she lost her friend.

Made my wife very happy.

We love our Google Home and Google Nest devices. The sound quality is truly extraordinary. We have several linked together in groups. For now, the new Mini Nest must learn to work well with others... artificial intelligence issue... What a beautiful technology!

Great

I bought this unit from walmart on Black Friday sales. It only works when the wifi connection is good, but unfortunately most of the time it stays offline though the router is fairly close (5m, no obstruction). Switch to 2.4G or 5G does not resolve the issue. I have tried to reset the device and it worked right after that, for a short while, before dropping offline for no apparent reasons. Power cycle solves the problem, but is not an option in the long term. When it is offline, Google Home (iOS) cannot control it. Weirdly enough, the bluetooth also has issues. My phone is sitting right beside Google Nest, connected via bluetooth, and the speaker will play for a while before stops working. It is quite frustrating experience to work with this unit. Google should really improve their product to be more reliable! Or maybe it is time to turn to other brands.

Works but with severe connection issues

This one star rating isn't a slight on the product (I'll never use it) because I bought a replacement back in 2022 when this never showed up. Wal-Mart also says I can't return it.

Took 14 months to arrive.

Walmart sent me one that by my best guess had been previously owned and returned. It was missing it's proper packaging. It was also difficult to set up because someone had already set it up on their home network.
