Smart Thermostat

I love the look and feel of my new Nest Thermostat, install was easy and straight forward with lots of support via Google and YouTube on this product. My one issue is the sense function isn't working like I'd like, but I'm sure it's something simple just haven't had the time to look into it. I love the integration into the Home app, this is the reason I got this version instead of the 3rd gen Learning Thermostat.

Near Perfect

Google LLC

Bought the basic model to replace a different high end unit. The old unit was off by 4 degrees either way and no amount of adjustments worked. Hooked the nest up and set it and was amazed at the performance. Great unit simple to install and more.importantly it works.

Nest thermostat

I've only installed the new nest thermostat a month ago and it works just like a thermostat should. It reads the ambient air temperature and tells my HVAC system when to activate and when to deactivate. How it works when in AC mode, I don't know. Time will only tell.

Pressured to submit review

We love our new Google Nest thermostat! Install instructions were excellent. I would like to see some improvements to the google home app - it took a few days to figure out how to optimize our settings. Also, haven't figured out if the model we have, learns...

Nest Review

This thing sat in a box while I tried to hype myself into having the courage to install it. But then I watched a the video on how to install it and decided to give it a shot.If you open the App scan the barcode and tell it what wires you have the app will guide you step by step to install it.. In total it took about 5 minutes to do. I like the fact you can see daily usage reports. Setting the schedule is a breeze. All and All i love it.Why not 5 stars I took a star away because I had to change the SSID and that involved resetting everything and setting it up from scratch if there was a way to change this without resetting and losing all the information and settings that would be ideal.

Love it except for one minor thing

This is a great thermostat for the price, and does what I need it to do, but as someone that has had previous versions of NEST thermostats in other homes, I find that going through the Google HOME app to control it is complicating something that used to be super easy. In previous versions I would pull up the NEST app and immediately start controlling the thermostat, but now I have to pull up the Google HOME app, and scroll through all of my google home devices to find the thermostat and then gain control. It isn't that complicate, but it was definitely easier before. Other than that, I would have given the product 5 stars.

I miss the NEST app...

One step closer to bring my home smart. It looks nice. It is easy to operate. Very simple installation process if you spend some time with videos available. Too early to comment on operational performance and savings $$$. I like it. The batteries came with the Nest were not rechargeable. Within the space of three weeks I had to replace twice.

Looks really nice, it is on cloud now

Well installing this was a pain. I could not install it into my home in the Google Home app. It kept getting stuck on connecting to my wifi. I called Google support and they also could not get it installed into my home where all my displays, speakers, light bulbs, smart plugs etc. are setup. They had me create a new home and install the thermostat into this new home. It works this way however it's annoying as presence detecting doesn't always work for both homes when I leave the house with my cell phone! It should work properly in only one home I think! Not sure how to fix this so I am using it as is for now.

Nest Thermostat

Good product, however there is no option to put the fan 24h/24h or ALWAYS ON. 12h is the maximum amount of time it can run without having to restart it again. This is irritating for some type of home that requires having the fan still in use.

I love this device when it is working, but my experience has been plagued with constant problems.Originally I could only install it in FRENCH, I could live with this, and did for a few months - but then it received an update and things are becoming more and more annoying.Now it constantly disconnects from my network (and google home) which requires me to either reboot it or in some cases do an entire factory reset which is a very annoying process (and includes having to re-identify all of the wires that are used for my HVAC system).I am very close to removing this and reinstalling my 15 year old thermostat.
