Great taste/value and resolves so smoothly and almost atumatically in warm water without any effort. First time I am using it, and I am happy that I bought it.

Here is the recipe I use from a review I found here on Walmart about 3 years ago, which I am so grateful for!

- 4 cups of water.
- 1 cup powdered milk.
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar (I use a cube of the pure cane sugar).
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract (I use a teaspoon of vanilla).

It's absolutely terrific!
After I finished drinking the jug of the; “Our Finest Not from Concentrate Premium Orange Juice with Pulp, 2.5 Litre” (also terrific), I clean it out really well, and that is what I use to mix the milk in.  :)  It works out perfect!
Then after using the jug with milk, I usually clean it with about a tablespoon of bleach and hot water and shake; thereafter I will use a tablespoon of vinegar with hot water shake again, and then shake once more with hot water after this.
I am handicapped, so I don't really like to depend on others to pick it up for me, therefore if they can't get there, I always have this Great Value Milk Powder on hand, it's awesome!

Terrific Skim Milk Powder, the best!

The water to powder ratio on the bag is a bit rich for me (1/4 c powder to 1 c water), tasting overly powdery-milk not skim-milk (less powder is more like real skim milk), which means I will get more quarts out of it. Although the bag is sold by weight, I measured the contents of my bag with a cup measure and my bag holds 11 cups of powder which means my bag will make 11 quarts of milk and more, in my case.

I have been trying to make more things from scratch, especially things that can be made ahead. So I bought this powdered milk specifically to make a pancake mix to store in my pantry, one that only needs water to make. It worked amazing for the pancakes so I will definitely buy this milk again. I have added the recipe below in case anyone else wants to try it. Thank you Walmart for offering this great product! Can't wait to try it in other recipes.😄

Dry Pancake Mix (use within 6 months):

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Great Value instant skim milk powder
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 Tbsp baking powder
1 Tbsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp salt

To Make Pancakes (makes 5-6):

1 cup pancake mix
3/4 cup water

Mix just until combined (batter will be a bit lumpy), and let sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken up before frying in butter and/or oil.

Perfect for a prepper pantry or a busy household!

I have been buying this product for quite a while, and use it for my morning coffee (just add it in its powdered form to my java and stir); my breakfast cereals; baking etc.I use it exclusively and never buy fresh milk any more. And the price is amazing.

As good as fresh milk.

There is another brand that is hard to mix, but this one is easy. This doesn't have the unappetizing bluish colour of bottled skim milk, it's yellowish. If you mix it stronger than recommended, it has the thickness of fatted milk. It's always fresh, and the taste is far superior to regular milk. Eliminating means milk fat means not only fewer calories, but also less saturated fat. If you want the zip lock to work, you have to cut right below the crimp.

Easy To Mix

Ran out of milk? No problem. A few spoonfuls of this dried skimmed milk powder added to some water and you've got the perfect solution. It's also great to add to a post-workout protein shake. Tastes OK, low in fat and high in protein. For 10 bucks you cannot go wrong.

Simple, cheap, Great for when you run out of milk

The resealable strip not seal to the bag. When I open the bag, I noticed the resealable strip was not sealed to the bag, so had to put a clip, very disappointing. Same with the second bag. Production issue and who ever produced this product was not very good with in process testing.

This was good a few years back. Then heavy, ghastly tasting sludge at the bottom of the cup and we quit purchasing it for over 2 years. Last month, decided to try it once more just in case they had gone back to their original formula but no such thing. The sludge is there. Like someone threw up in the cup. The milk itself is entirely tasteless, so worse than before.

Terrible packaging - there are no instructions as to how to open the package, so I cut the top off and now I can't seal the package. It looks like one should only remove about a millimeter off the top. Very disappointed.
