This kettle is a fine one for people who want a little better hot drink. If you adhere to the notion of burning leaves and/or grounds with water too hot for a specific product, in this kettle you have a solution. Select the temp for the drink and you'll have the best drink you can make.

Variable Temperature Kettle

I have had this kettle for about a month now. It has a sleek look and will fit in with other stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. It is operating as it should; with the variable settings being a bonus if you are an avid tea drinker who enjoys varying types of teas that require certain recommended temperatures for optimal taste and brewing. The only thing that minimally concerns me is the writing on the buttons. I have noticed the lowest button looking a little faded than the others from griping the kettle on that spot on the handle.  Certainly not a deal breaker for me. Overall, a good kettle so far and operates as described. Hoping it lasts.

Hamilton Beach tea kettle

I bought this kettle a month ago. When I first set it on the counter, my family complained about the extra buttons and seemingly complicated kettle. It turns out to be fairly intuitive and defaults to the hottest setting. The keep warm function is nice if I know I might be pulled away but seems to be an energy waster. The beep is the most useful as it allows me to hear when the kettle is done especially for the lower temperatures that don't make the kettle rumble.  My only complaint is the handle is too thick: if you have small hands you might find this kettle difficult to pick up and hold. If you're looking for a multi-temperature kettle, this one boils quickly and the stainless steel finish is attractive.

Good value!

The kettle is very functional and boils quickly. I like the keep warm feature.  My concern with this kettle is that after only 2 weeks, the kettle has began to rust on the lid.

Rusting after 2 weeks

I bought this product 1 and a half years ago and for a product that is normally made to hold the blow 5 years ago it is very disappointing

Works great (when it works)

The printing is wearing off all of the buttons that we have been using.  Will be returning the kettle to Walmart.

Hamilton Beach 1 7 L Variable Temperature Kettle

Have tried and exchanged 3 kettles. It will not beep/turn off when you boil on black tea. All the water or half the water is gone before giving up and turning it off manually. Would not recommend this kettle to anyone.

Bad Kettle

I just bought this and once I put water in and boil it as instructed it had spots of rust all over the inside surface..

Poor quality

I actually need to return this. The first time I used it the button for black tea did not automatically shut off on its own. This has been an issue and when it does shut off it boils for too long. And the other day,while boiling, it made a scary puff kind of sound and marked up my counter. It overheated. So, now I no longer use it, as i am scared to.
