These sweats are a soft fleece and the medium fit me well. I am 5'5" and much of my height is from my long legs, and they still are not too short.  My waist is not a lot smaller than my hips, but fortunately the elastic didn't squeeze it. The only drawback to these pants is that there are no pockets.  The plus side is that without pockets, the silhouette is more flattering.  These pants would keep you warm and comfy.  I cannot tell you how they washed, because I returned them because I wanted pockets.

Comfortable

Thin, for indoors. Comfortable fabric. I ordered the pink in medium and it fits like a large. Washed in hot, dried on high to shrink but you can only do so much. I don't mind the loose legs, but the loose hips and waist make it droop. I'll wear it around the house.

Too big

I ordered a Women's Medium. I think these are even larger than a Men's Medium. Here's a picture of my daughter holding the sweat pants. She is "Not" stretching the waist. This picture is showing exactly how wide the waist is.

Way too big!

Cinched ankles, were not. Very thin for sweats, as well. It will cost me 20 miles in travel, gas etc to return, so I will just keep them as sleep pants. I am disabled so ai order online to avoid the travel and going into stores.

Sweat pants not as seem.

I wore them twice just around the house and a seam already ripped. I also wish they had pockets but I liked the fit before they ripped.

I have been wearing these for over 10 years; buying new replacements every year. In the past 2 years they have severely changed. Legs sewn crooked, one leg longer than the other. I buy size S and one pair is skin tight the next is gigantic. I bought 4 pairs at once and to return all 4 due to defects. I am going to switch brands.

These have changed!

I remember Hanes underwear to be the best you could buy when I was younger, but like with so many other things the quality is not the same. I was very disappointed in the sweat pants, the hoodie and the other ten hoodies I purchased. I should have bought one. The quality is not what it was.

Hanes from the past

For Hanes I'm very disappointed in the material used the elastics around the legs are awful%26 definitely not the Hanes I've purchased in the past Hanes needs to return to the Company they used previously or fire the person who designed these sorry but very poor in the making of them even the waist isn't acceptable. What happened to the Hanes I remember, sad
