Waist Fit

For Spring

It dawned on me that I have two pair of pants in my closet that are my go to's!! They are in my weekly rotation and are by far my favorite pants. Didn't really know where they came from or what brand but decided to investigate to see if there were additional colors or backups for when those wore out. Took some sleuthing but it is these pants. They are French terry so thinner than sweats and the colors are weathered which makes them look a bit elevated in appearance. Great pockets. Great elastic waistband with a drawstring for precise fit. Nice elastic gathering at the ankle. I am so delighted that I located these pants but so sad they only have 3 colors. I would truly purchase every color they made!!! Get them while you can!!

On the hunt…..

Hanes

I LOVE THESE PANTS. They're soft and pretty lightweight, but warm enough for spring exercise/lounging. They're flattering and so, so comfortable. I really don't want to wear any other pants anymore. The only problem is that it pills on the thighs, but any cotton product pills where friction happens, so it's not a big deal. They're dark grey and the drawstring is long enough to tighten around my waist. I got a medium and my waist is 30 inches, and my hips are 40. Seriously though, best joggers ever.

My favorite pants

These are a light weight jogger. The string at the waist is adequate for plus sized women. The pockets are a decent size.

French Terry Joggers with Pockets, 30"

These are incredibly comfortable and the most stylish sweatpants I have ever owned. They even got high praise from my husband, who is usually not a fan of sweatpants from a looks perspective.

Great sweatpants!

I love the material and how soft they are. However, I wanted a pair that was dark so I ordered black heather and the picture is displayed. It looks black. It is not black. The actual color is more a medium/dark gray. I reordered 2 more times after speaking to a customer service rep but all pairs are still gray. Is the picture wrong? It is really gray heather. Wish you had darker colors.

Jogger color not as displayed

These are very comfortable and light weight. I am enjoying them. The only thing is the small size feels bigger in this style than the other pants I got that were also a size small. The sizing seems to be off a bit. I am a personal trainer so when the summer comes and it's hot outside but cool in the gym, these fill be perfect for keeping me comfortable. Looking forward to wearing them more.

Cool, comfortable, a tiny bit large for me

Very comfortable and soft. I bought these in the small size and they do run slightly big, I'm 5'4" and about 115 lbs. The length fits me exactly like the model coming right above my ankle bones but I do have very long legs for my height, and I would have preferred them a bit longer. I measured The inseam and it was 28 and 1/2 inches . I have washed them several times and haven't noticed any shrinkage or pilling. The waist fits fine since its elastic and also has a drawstring but the legs are somewhat baggy, but all in all they still look very nice, although I personally only wear these types of pants (jogging, sweatpants) around the house or for pajamas, so they are perfect for me. I bought these in the blue juniper color, which is very pretty and matches the jacket I bought on here, not long ago, same color and material.

Very happy with these.

Beware: the black pants are actually medium gray. I was disappoint when I received the black pants I ordered and the color was actually gray. Not a dark charcoal that could be mistaken for black in low lighting. Actually gray. I'm keeping mine for as lounge-around-the-house pants because they are really soft and lightweight. Also, these pants were bigger in the legs than I expected, so they are a very loose fit.

Black = Gray

PROS: These are very comfortable, lightweight and great for spring, summer or fall. If it's a very cold winter day these may be too thin. The stitching is very well done, especially on the waist and elastic ankle. Pockets are roomy and placed well. They are a desirable mid-rise which is hard to find in the days of hideous high and super high-rise waist lines that make woomen look a lot heavier than they are and look downright stupid on most, but especially short people.

CONS: For reference I am 51 years old, 5'2" and 130lbs. 39 inch hips and 29 inch true waist at the slimmest part. probably around 33 inches or so where these fall (mid-rise). I have a fairly slim average build. In order to wear them I have to cuff them to fit my height. They need to make these for petite. They look ridiculous uncuffed and don't drape in an attractive way if I don't cuff. They are also NOT french terry, which is what my specific search was for. The waist is too large for me and I have to draw the strings quite a bit, which buckles the waist and isn't a good look. If I don't tighten the waist they are too low and the crotch hangs.

I ordered a small and if an extra small petite were available that would be an appropriate size for my height, weight and build. Unfortunately that isn't available. While I like the material, style and stitching I can't order these again because they don't fit properly. Hanes used to be a great brand, but their stuff should be sold at a seriously discounted rate in Family Dollar or ABC discount stores.

The good, bad and untruths

walmart.com

French Terry is usually made from cotton wand is defined by having a looped material on the inside with a smoother fabric texture on the outside. I need to be more careful when ordering from this site because when I searched for “sweatpants” I thought I would get items that are made with “sweatpants” material, which is cotton and a brushed cotton fleece inside. This item is shiny synthetic fabric with a very fake looking, very poor attempt at “heather” which is natural for sweatpants. I'm really not happy. I think these are going to make me sweaty in twenty minutes.

Not French Terry. All synthetic
