I have tried every oil control, matte primer on the market and this is the only one that even without a setting spray that keeps my severely oily Tzone looking like a natural finish (Dewey not greasy). Most days I have combination skin and this doesn't over dry the normal areas (what kind of sorcery is this🤔) If you're tired of looking like an oil slick within a few hrs and don't want to use a ton of powder, repeat, blotting paper try this. of course it won't be magic for everyone but for the price it should absolutely be one of the first trys.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] "This primer is the best.  Other much more expensive items do not compare.  I like the soothing, smoothing texture of the clear gel.  Others that I have tried do not have the flow-on smooth feel.  It makes the base just glide on.  Theirs is more of a ""cream"".I"

Excellent dupe for a certain expensive brand of "Hydro Grip" primer. I fell in love with the original but couldn't afford to spend that much cash on a single primer, so I looked online for potential dupes and this Hard Candy variety popped up. I've tried Hard Candy brand products in the past with basically no success, so I had my doubts - but this stuff is great! 

Is this 100% identical to the similar "luxury" brand that starts with the letter "M"? No, but it is pretty close. I still use the expensive brand for special events because it does seem *slightly* more long lasting in terms of keeping your foundation looking fresh, but I use the Hard Candy the rest of the time. It even looks similar to the other primer, with a slightly green translucent hue. It is very slightly sticky, so that is how it "grips", but it dries down quickly and I think it may be less "sticky" than the similar luxury brand is. 

I have oily t-zone and very flakey dry patches on areas of my face, so I long for a primer that is hydrating but also NOT greasy...this one fits the bill. It makes makeup apply more smoothly and helps it look better for longer. This is the only "inexpensive" primer I've found worth a repurchase, I hope they never discontinue it.

Best "drugstore" primer I've found

Bought this as an impulse buy as i was walking by one of our makeup aisles, figured I'd give it a try. I was a little leary since it wasn't very tacky like some of the other primers I've used but I loved the silky-smooth feel of it. My foundation glides on over it and it helps keep my makeup in place and looking good all day. The container isn't very big but it has lasted for quite a while. Definitely will purchase again, definitely recommend it.

Love the silky feel of it

This is the best drug store primer I've used.  I am 50 and have tried so many primers that work with my mature skin. I had my doubts, and even after i put it on,  I thought I had made a big mistake.  It goes on a bit sticky and tacky (hence grip) but it dries down nicely.  My foundation looks fantastic and stays all day long.  Now, since i have wrinkles and knowing there will be some settling in my lines,  this really helps it not look like a road map.  I highly suggest this primer.

Best Primer

It has a nice texture and goes on smooth. Works well with my current make up (true match). Don't care for the smell but it doesn't linger too long. It's good but not what I'm looking for.

Good

While it feels good, I don't notice that it fills in wrinkles much like other primers. Since I'm 56-I probably need a higher priced thicker primer at this point lol

Smooth finish

I love how it applies very smooth very buttery but it doesn't have a very firm grip I don't really expect this to be long wear and I'm very generous with the foundation concealer and powder also setting spray but it seems to be the new primer that's just not doing it for me I'm going to switch back to the elf grip
