The bench came packaged securely.  The material feels soft to touch (not rough).  There were some indications of material not being top notch in that it had some defective and irregular lines in it such as harness withdraw or needle line.  The defects were not enough to send the bench back.  I though it looked okay.  The bench itself is heavy and sturdy.  The levels to hold the top in an upright position are not the best and I feel that if not watched would close on a person.

It is worth its money.  for overall appearance, materials and construction, the bench is worth the price that Walmart is asking.
