My fave sound options are: ocean and rain. 

The range of volume is pretty good as well. If you only need it to be fairly low or if you're trying to “drown” out some noise. 

It's small enough to travel with if you're going somewhere where you may need it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Homedics sound machine has a nice variety of nature sounds and white/brown/pink noise options. The volume control lowest setting starts at a comfortable level and you can turn it up quite a bit, so if you're trying to relax or sleep directly next to the sound machine, you're still able to hear it across the room. The nightlight is subtle and adds just enough of an ambience not to be too bright to sleep next to it. I like that this machine has the option to be mobile, but I've only used it with plugged into the wall outlet. If I had to find one negative it would be that it takes up quite a bit of space on my nightstand, so I moved it to a desk on the other side of the room, and like I mentioned before, it's helpful that the volume can be turned up a lot.

I have used a fan for white noise for years, and while I wasn't a fan of the brown, white, or pink noise sounds on this machine, I love the summer nights, brook, and seaside sounds. The LED night light and auto off features are awesome. It also is very thin and easily portable. The option to plug in or use batteries is helpful. My only complaint is that I wish the night light was a little brighter. All in all, I love this thing. I sleep so much better and my wife sleeps better too. Also used it for young kids visiting over the holidays and now my BiL is getting two of them for his 1 and 4 year olds as it helped his kids take better naps and fall asleep sooner at night (they liked the rain apparently). The improvement in sleep quality alone is more than worth the trade. Highly recommend for all ages.

Its very portable to take anywhere when traveling or using at home. The machine is very durable and the battery life lasts a long time. Great nights sleep

I love the different sounds and volume it makes so I can customize it to what my client likes. The light is handy just in case the lights need to be darkened for the client. Solid sound machine, could have better speaker qua

But I do wish that the quality of the other sounds were a little better hence the 4 stars. We love bringing this on vacation with us because my husband can't sleep without a fan sound and the white noise is a great replacement.

Great variety but needs better quality

Before  I receive this sleeping machine, I never realized I need to have one, but once I start using it, I become a quick lover of it. It has sleep enhancing sounds for sleep, optimized nightlight and my favorite one is blue and Elsa has out of time which really really helpful because you're gonna fall asleep so fast, you use it highly recommended

Purchased to replace a much older homedics sound machine. The sound quality is much lower quality and the ocean sound isn't as good.
