Have been buying for maybe 2 years. The new product is awful. Tastes bland, stale, there's a stickiness to it that wasn't there before, some clusters so hard I can't even bite through them without risking damage to teeth. It's not edible, it tastes awful. Bring back the old ingredients/formula. I will not be buying again

I agree with the rest of the reviewers that the new version of this tastes both weird and stale.  It was my go to cereal for years and years, and I even hooked my wife on it.  She hates the new taste as well.  I found boxes of the original brought back and somehow still on the shelves and bought it out.  We switched to the cocoa clusters but miss the extra protein in the morning, so am searching for a new cereal unless you bring back the old recipe.

New flavor is awful

Before the recipe change in 2025, this cereal used to be absolute favorite. It had fiber, protein and tasted delicious. Now it tastes stale, lacks flavor, and seems hard rather than crunchy. PLEASE bring back the old recipe.

Horrible New Recipe

This used to be my FAVORITE cereal. I was eating it every day. But the new formula tastes really bad. PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLD RECIPE! 

For now, I'm going to stop buying it, but I'll keep checking the ingredients from time to time, and I'll definitely start buying again if it changes back.

WE NEED OLD RECIPE

This was my absolute FAVORITE cereal. It had the same chocolate flavor as my favorite sugary cereals, but with more fiber and protein. I eat it every day. Now it just tastes like a bland healthy tasteless granola. I'm so bummed. I want the chocolate flavor back please. I'm returning it to the store.

The new recipe isn't chocolate -y anymore!!!!

As so many have noted, the new recipe is terrible.  They took a great product with a loyal customer base and ruined it.  Bad.  I wonder if they even tested this product before release.  Will not consider this or any other Kashi product unless they revert back.  Kashi was a great product and company until they sold out to Kellog's

Worst product decision ever

Sad that they changed the recipe of this cereal. It tastes stale and there is hardly any chocolate flavor. This used to be my favorite. I have an old and a new box in front of me and can see that there are a number of changes to the recipe, including the removal of the second ingredient which was whole grain oats. Please go back to the prior version!

Disappointing

A couple of months ago I bought three boxes of the Chocolate crunch (It's mine and my husbands favorite, we went through so many boxes a week), and we thought we had gotten a bad batch. The flavor is terrible, texture is terrible, tastes and feels stale. I hate when companies change formulas. I guess the only good thing is we save a ton of money, we won't be purchasing anymore sadly.

A Former Favorite, Now it's Terrible

What happened here?  This used to taste really good.  I used to buy the smaller boxes.  I noticed that when the bigger boxes came out, this lacks flavor.  It tastes like cardboard now.  What is up with that??  Fix it!  Before, I'd give this 5 stars, now i'm being nice to give it 1 star.

NO good now.

I don't have a clue what they changed in the recipe, but this cereal used to be good. I loved it. Now, it's not good and I don't like it. 
The last two boxes I bought were a chewier (almost stale) texture. There also wasn't nearly as much chocolate flavor. I won't buy this again. Bug disappointment.

Used to be good....

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried the chocolate crunch flavor and was  pleasantly surprised by how filling and satisfying it was  the cereal has a rich chocolate taste without being overly sweet, and the crunch stayed consistent  even after sitting in milk for a few minutes. I also liked that is provides a good amount of  protein and fiber, wich made it a great quick breakfast or snack option. The aroma is light and chocolatey and preparation is as simple as pouring and enjoying. Overall itis a tasty and convenient cereal thet keeps me full longer than regular cereals
