Great product

I bought this hand mixer a few weeks ago, after years trying to replace my old hand mixer from the sixties. I don't even remember the brand, but I used it through twenty years of weekly cookie making, twice weekly potato mashing, and numerous homemade birthday cakes and cheesecakes galore. It died after a long and productive life of dedication. Ten years followed that I went through four hand mixers (not KitchenAid) which burned up by the second time I used them for anything besides stirring up a boxed cake mix. I went for the last half of that decade without. All that frustration aside, I bought the KitchenAid with my last gasp of hope for an actual hand mixer light enough that my now old and feeble wrists could lift and wield. It is great. Low geared enough to mash potatoes, cream actual butter and sugar together, and beat cream cheese into a smooth batter for cheesecake. I have worked it very hard over this holiday season, because if it was going to burn up I wanted to get it over with, but it just keeps on beating. I do think I will be buying the unit with more gears for a higher whipping speed, just because I would like to have those options. Thanks for the opportunity to sing the praises rather than complaining about a poorly made product.

Nice mixer

I've been a fan of KitchenAid for years. Already have a stand mixer but sometimes I prefer to use my hand mixer. The cord on my previous one was wearing thin so I bought a new one (navy blue). Haven't used it yet since it was a Christmas gift to myself but I've no doubt that it will last for years as my previous one did.

Love it!!

I purchased this mixer as I love kitchen aid products. It is lightweight and easy to use.
My only disappointment is that they changed to beaters and I am not sure when mixing a thicker batter such as brownies how they will hold up.  I wished that they would not have changed them. I have not sure the mixer a lot but plan too around the holidays. I will see how it holds up then. so far so good.

Had for 2 years and the top of one the beaters has become loose.. I don't use it all the time either.. My last one lasted 23 years! It's so sad. I called support and was offered 20% off a new one which I won't be buying.  It's too bad as I used to love kitchenaid appliances.
