AMAZING MACHINE!!!!

Kitchen Aid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I was a kid my mother, a great cook had a KitchenAid mixer in our kitchen.  With this simple device she could create anything.  As I became an adult I always wanted one for myself, but other items and counterpace issues got in the way.  This year I changed that and got the Pro 600.  I did my research and learned this unit has metal gears and is tough as a tank.  The beauty is in its simplicity.  Just a simple control gear that changes speed on the motor. No push buttons, not LED, just a machine that is as comfortable in my modern kitchen as it was in my mother's home in the 60's.   The first big test was gingerbread this Christmas.  Not a small batch, but a quadruple batch of touch molasses filled dough. I started with the whisk and moved to the dough hook and it was perfect all the way.  The machine saved me time, mixed to perfection.  For Christmas, I was given a macaroni making attachment. Growing up in an Italian household, homemade pasta was a wonderful memory and the only time I attempted it in the last 30 years was so labor intensive, I never tried again.  But this time, with the dough hook doing all my kneading and then the pasta extruder turning the dough into perfect noodles, it was fun and delicious. In fact, I ordered several pounds of Semolina flour (the best flour for pasta) and have been cranking out the stuff for weeks.  A word of note, the recipe for pasta that comes with the macaroni maker is too tough, go online and search for a more pliable recipe that uses Semolina.  The last attachment I bought was the meat grinder.  The new favorite is ground chicken with vegetables cooked up burger style.

The Pro 600 is big but its classic lines make it a piece of kitchen art.  It occupies a section of my counter and is one of the first things people comment on when entering the kitchen. Great Mixer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my mixer for Christmas and it has been used almost everyday since. I don't know how I lived 10 years of my married life without it. I made our own bread and it has made it so much easier with it. the first time I used it to make chocolate chip cookies my whole family could tell the difference in the taste and texture.

A long time coming!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Pro 600 Series 6 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer from Santa for Christmas and my eyes lit up with joy! I am in college, with my degree in Baking and Pastry Management. I have always used my moms KitchenAid but I wanted one of my own! I always had my eye on the bigger mixer so I would be able to practice and bake a large quantity of product. My favorite things would be cookie dough, cake batters and some food items like mashed potatoes! I love this mixer because its able to bring my family together because everyone always love a cookie once in awhile and some good potatoes! KitchenAid products will always be with me threw out my career and at home when its time to bake or cook!

BEST KitchenAid EVER!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since I started making cakes in 2009, I had gone through at least a dozen other mixers, even other stand up varieties because none of them were strong enough to mix buttercream more than once or twice. I spent so much money on junk mixers that I finally decided to invest in a good one. Finally getting my KitchenAid Professional 600 Series 6 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer saved me money, time, and sanity. I love it! The only thing I would have changed is the color...I like the tangerine but would have really loved it if it came in turquoise. :)

I love this mixer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOVE my new Kitchenaid mixer.  Hubs got it for me for my birthday and could not be more pleased.  I have had my smaller, less HP, mixer since 1990 and it was still going strong, but really needed a little more power and a bigger bowl for all the breads I have been making this last year.  Only downer for me is that the paddle, dough hook and wisk are not recommended to go in the dishwasher.  My others were very dishwasher friendly, but I am sure I will adjust to the new ones.  Probably use my mixer at least twice a week previously and now.  Super stoked!

FABULOUS

The only problem I have with it is my wire whisk hits the bowl when on in 1 or 2 spots.  The book says the bowl lift is adjustable but either it doesn't work or its so minute of a change you can't tell.  Other than that it's great.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I love my Kitchen Aid mixer and have really liked all the attachments that work with it, as most have been really great. However, I am very disappointed in the quality of the food grinder. During the second use, the housing began to crack. Before using it for the 3rd time, my husband put a couple zip ties around it to help reinforce it so it would not continue to crack and we could finish grinding the meat that needed to be done. Never made it thru the 3rd use, completely cracked and meat started coming out the side. As pricey as this is, I would expect a more durable plastic that would perform and hold up to do the job it was designed to do.
