Getting away from those pots and pans that leak chemicals in my food.

Since I have previously owned alot of cast iron cookware and know how to use and maintain it, This skillet does a great job for what it was designed for. I use it mainly for panini and it performs perfectly. I preheat a cast iron press thus making the entire panini cooking time about 3-5 minutes. When the weather is too bad to fire up the charcoal grill or I'm just in a hurry, it grills a steak perfectly. Highly recomended!

this cast iron pan has changed the way I have cooked steaks! it is absolutely amazing and you can sear the marks on your stove and then put it in the oven to finish at medium rare!!! it's unbelievable if you don't have one get one!!

Attractive, classic, nice size grill pan. Great price, too. Used it to grill some salmon, onions and zucchini the other day. Can't wait to use it on hamburgers, hot dogs or grilled cheese sandwiches. Ridges within the pan is high enough to make the classic "grill" marks but the pan is easy enough to clean afterwards with some good quality de-greasing dish soap. Pan is a little bit on the heavy side (cast iron!) but overall, very happy with my purchase.

Just what I've been looking for!

This is a great pan for cooking steaks, or anything else you'd throw on a grill outside. Cooks evenly if you give it time to heat up and cleans easily by hand. Pan is pretty mheavy though, so I had to use two hands to transfer from stove to oven. I love it and use it a lot.

Great pan for “grilling” indoors

This is truly an exceptional product. Well beyond my greatest expectations. It's the best thing I've ever bought from Walmart. It heavier than any other piece I own and it performs magnificently. Lodge Mfg. is truly the best, and only, source for American Cast Iron.

Best Cast Iron Cookware I've ever owned

I love this pan! Just the right size for 2 tenderloins or chicken breasts. I can now get the BBQ effect indoors year round. After a couple of weeks I decided to order the lid also to keep the stovetop clean, and the grill press for sandwiches and to speed up the grilling process.

Wish I hadn't waited so long to but one

This pan performed as admirably as a cast iron pan should. It got hot quickly and the items that it was used for (steaks and hamburgers) got great grill marks and seared beautifully. It went into the oven and did a great job at continuing to cook the meat. The only thing that is a negative is its weight. It is very heavy. I don't recall my mother's old cast iron skillet being nearly this heavy. I have carpal tunnel, and it exacerbated the pain in my wrist just from its weight. It would be a phenomenal weapon in the event of a burglar! If you can handle the weight, it's an excellent pan.

Excellent Pan

I have only used this pan twice (they really need to ask for reviews latter and not so quickly). It felt good and solid in my hands, gave me the "burn" marks on meat that i was looking for and cooked them evenly. Its saids they come "seasoned", on my first try the meat stuck and was difficult to clean up afterwards (even used spray on oil). I re=seasoned the pan myself (IAW their directions on their website) and it works just like a non-stick pan. Bottom line: works great, just season the pan before you use it the first time so u are not disappointed.

Was supposed to be seasoned already, according to selling points. Fried bacon and it all stuck to the pan. By the time bacon was done I had tiny pieces! I have many other cast iron pans, none of which stick the food like this one did.

Horrible
