Amazing and cost effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Getting my Lodge round griddle to season properly is a challenge.  The acid test is cooking an egg.  If I have to scrape the thing with a metal spatula, that don't cut it.  After using peanut oil, ghee, and olive oil, I decided to go to an approved source and get the Lodge brand spray on seasoning.  I tried it first by heating the griddle on low for an hour after spraying and wiping, then used some ghee.  The egg still stuck, but I scrapped less (whoopie!).  After cleaning with dish soap and gentile scrubber, I re-applied some more Lodge seasoning.  This time, it was no different, the release was subpar.  I guess I'll have to do more oiling and heating with the Lodge seasoning.  Next time I could save some money if I got a bottle of canola oil instead.  I still wipe anyway.  For eggs I'll have to resort to non-stick pans.  I'll have to try different foods to determine each one's stick level.  This could be an ongoing saga.

Not all that great

Canola oil is highly processed cheap to make oil. It is high in omega 6 and releases free radicals when cooking. Most canola oil is gmo, being chemically extracted using a solvent. Stick with mother nature's oils not man made oils. Animal fats are full of omega 3's that feed your brain and many other nutrients. Humans have been using them for thousands of years. Vegetable oils are new. All about the money.
