[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this shelf together myself in about an hour. It comes with the only tool that you will need. The instructions are very easy to follow just by looking at the illustrations. They included a few extras of some parts. Everything lined up nicely,…it took a little effort to get some of the screws in,…but once they caught hold, it went smoothly and everything tightened up nicely. The finished product is shoulder height on me,….I'm 5'8” tall. They include feet to protect your flooring and plastic rivet covers for a nice finished look. The shelf is sturdy with a thin laminate surface. We plan on using it for storage. It is definitely sturdy enough for our needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love black shelving as it's just so sleek but quite often it just darkens a room and also the items that you showcase on it. This was black but doesn't have a back or sides letting your display really shine and keep it bright. I out this together all on my own in one so gle sitting. No extra tools required. Everything you need is in the box. It would be easier to build with a friend but you surely can do it in your own. Everything fits together nice and tight and it seems sturdy enough. Once you get it filled with all of your goods, it's stunning! The shelves are a nice size and shape and it stands well. It was a tad shorter than I'd imagined but obviously you can look at the full dimensions before making up your mind. I think the photos speak for themselves with this one!!

The Allen wrench provided is however a bit difficult to 
use. Holes are so tight that they squeeze while turning. 
The holes are close but not exactly lined up, so expect to
Push them together. Would be very much easier if you could 
Use a drill,, my fingers were killing me once finished.
 There are a lot of screws. 
As for the make: couldn't ask for better. I would recommend 
It.

Beautiful

When I came across the Madesa Modern Home Ladder Shelf Bookcase I felt that I could finally get my books more organized and easily accessible. The unit fit our interior design style, had the shelving space I was looking for, and was the right size for the space we chose in our kitchen area.

Pros:
Packaged well, no damage in shipping.
All pieces were included with extra hardware.
The finish of the shelving unit is uniform and nice.
Came with instructions on how to build.
Total build time (alone) was 1 hour 15 minutes.
Finished unit looks nice and fits our décor perfectly.
Unit is sturdy once the assembly is completed.

Overall, the Home Ladder Shelf Bookcase is something I would recommend with one thought. It is a lot easier to install the screws with a power drill (set on low torque setting) than with the allen wrench provided.

As my cookbook collection continues to grow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this bookshelf! It's so cute and so well made! It fits in great with my farmhouse decor theme that runs through my entire house. It wasn't hard to assemble but my husband and I are seasoned at assembling furniture. I would say it wouldn't be hard even for a beginner. The wood is sturdy and well made and seems like it will last a long time. The color looks clean and sleek and like it would go with lots of different decor themes. It holds a lot and is very functional not just pretty. 
Definitely recommend! Pretty, well made, and functional! Very satisfied!

Currently adding my plants and some decor pieces to it. Overall I am fairly impressed with this bookcase. It's not as tall or large as some, but it works for my space.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like my new Madesa ladder shelf book case. I got the black one and it is a true black color. It is almost 5 feet high and holds a good amount of items. My husband was able to put it together in about 30 minutes. There was issues with the top lining up correctly to fit the top shelf board on, but he made it work. There were also issues with some of the screws not wanting to go in easily. So I would say this is doable but has some slight annoyances with putting it together. Each shelf suggests a maximum of 11 pounds, but I put more on and it has been ok so far. I am using it to store school book for my family's homeschool year. each kid gets a shelf plus it gives me an extra 2 shelves for my teacher books. The ladder shelf helps clean up the school space and keeps the books in order enough. I put it in my dining room along a wall and it fits nicely with some room to spare. Overall, I would say the construction of it is decent for the type of shelf it is. I like the simple design and think that it works well in the space I have it in. The overall style is kind of modern but if you got a lighter color it would be more farm decore. I do really like this and would consider getting another one if I needed something similar in the future. I would recommend it for those who want a nice looking decorative peace as long as they don't need to over load it.

VERY UNHAPPY with this piece.  I paid almost 120.00 with shipping for this think small bookshelf with white showing through everywhere.  The wood is roughed up see pics and the plastic covers will not stay in.  I can't believe how flimsy this is.

Worth 20 bucks if that
