I bought two so I could put them side-by-side. I'm a 52 yo female and put these together by myself. The instructions were very easy to follow and they went together very easily with a screwdriver and hammer. They were packed well and arrived with no damage. Note, these bookshelves are exactly what you're paying for, meaning that they are not solid wood (they are pressboard) and will NOT hold heavy objects, nor should they be used in a garage or other high-humidity areas. If you need something inexpensive to hold lighter-weight items, this will fit your needs perfectly. My only complaint would be that one bookcase was missing a shelf holder/bracket-thingy but had two extra screws that was not needed. Then, the second bookcase had all of the shelf holders, but was missing a few of the tack nails for the backing. Still, for my use, I love them and they were a smart buy.

Great, Inexpensive Bookcase

For the money spent on this bookshelf, I can't complain. Came in 10 pieces, with a safety strap to attach to the wall. the centre shelf is from end to end, allowing more weight. As I was putting books in, when I stood from the side I could already see the shelves bending so I had to rearrange heaviest to bottom. I ordered this for kids books and toys for the basement; It met my expectations, but I wasn't expecting something exceptional. That being said, there was nothing wrong with it, all pieces were in the box.

Good enough for the money spent

I recently bought 12 of these bookcases. They're somewhat complicated to put together at first, but have good instructions with many illustrations.  Most pieces are marked with an easy to remove sticker to identify exactly which piece you're looking at. This is good because several are very similar. One box had 2 #5 pieces and I had to drill through some parts to get it together, so it worked out fine.  Also, since I ordered so many, it wasn't too surprising that one was damaged in transit and one was lost along the way. Walmart customer service in online chat ordered 2 replacements and within an hour or so they were getting ready to ship the replacements, so that also worked out well.

The cases themselves are sturdy, and easily carry many heavy books. I did keep to putting the heaviest large books on the bottom shelves and smaller softcovers in the top 2, but I do recommend using the included nylon strap and screws to fix them to the wall since it would be easy for them to become overbalanced.

Good basic bookcases

...for what they are...30 dollar bookcases...they are great...we bought 5 and had no problem with any of them...after going thru all the parts and staging them, they went together in about 30 min apiece, no harder than any other cheap DIY furniture...there were some cosmetic scratches but easily hidable in our usage...would certainly buy again(and will).................J&M

rubber bisquits

I bought this in the store to use as a shoe shelf. So far it is great. I do need extra shelves but can not find the corect size anywhere.

It would be great to be able to get extra shelves with the plugs to hold them in place.

Works great for shoes...

I constantly buy at Ike's and I'm a pro and putting furniture together. It usually takes me 30 mins -1 hr. This thing took me 3 hrs and made me sweat, talking to my self in anger, frustrated... I almost cried. Instruction sheet was not even properly arranged. Instructions were terrible. I found myself screwing stuff and at one point unscrewing them back because the instructions were hard to follow. It was so hard to put I will never buy furniture from Walmart. Its moves too, but overall looks good.

Ordered shelf took few days to get once opened parts damaged called the number in box  to tell the company about it  they replyed by saying to return it to store so now have to waste my time my gas because they can't package there product so it can make it to the customer undamaged. Stay away  I'll use Amazon next time

Damaged  bad support from customer service

I had chipped wood and pieces everywhere. Dents and scrapes and parts of it came off from where the wood seemed to have been just thrown in the box

All the pieces were scratched and chipped right out of the box.  The shelves are only painted on one side!  The underside of each shelf is just unfinished particle board, which is very visible from any angle.  Returned and will not purchase again, nor would I recommend to anyone else.  A piece of junk.
