This unit is the most sturdy I have put together in many years.  I have recently moved and have put together many, many items like this recently.  It is really sturdy and looks great.  It uses actual screws and nails.  The directions were easy to understand and follow.  This was a great purchase!

Diy-ed it to be a backpack "locker" station for this upcoming school year since I'll have 1 in TK and 1 in 1st grade and I didn't want to have EVERYTHING from school land on the dinner table every day after school. Look's like it'll work to hold backpacks, jackets, and bins for paperwork etc...

it was incredibly easy to put together. it would feel more sturdy if i connected it to the wall but honestly holds up fine since i dont pull on it. one of the cheaper storage unit options so feel the price is comparable though maybe slightly over priced (isnt everything though?)

Love Mainstays as a brand — affordable and always stylish, fits my aesthetic perfectly. This cube shelf is no exception. I love that you can customize with different colored bins to personalize it exactly how you want. Great value and looks great in the room.

The cube storage came super speedy and was very easy to put together. The hardware and all the parts are included all you really need is some open space and a Phillips head screwdriver to put together. I did it by myself in my dorm cause I was not bouta pay that assembly price. Keep in mind this product is particle board so it's not as sturdy as wood, but it still works perfectly fine and can hold a good amount of weight! But I bought this to use as a purse organizer cause I needed a 3rd set of cubbies, I use my other 2 for my wardrobe (lil drawers for my clothes) and I've never had any issues! Overall 5 stars and would indeed recommend for easy simple storage solutions.

My go to storage solution!

The assembly on these is so much easier than some of the other brands of cube storage that I've purchased. They're sufficiently study and the finish is standard for this type of cube storage. What surprised me the most is the particle board on the back. Usually the particle board pieces are very hard to put in place with nails on some other brands but with these, there are pre-drilled holes in both the organizer and the particle board squares with perfectly fitting plastic inserts that hold those back pieces in place quite well. And, the best part is that no hammer OR coordination is required. Everything fits together nicely with no struggle, no coercion, and no headache.  They all look great and they're perfectly sturdy - so much so that I have at least 15 of them around my house.

Better than other organizers in same price range

Truth is, you get what you pay for. If I wanted something super heavy duty, I would have gone with a Target or Ikea brand. You get what you pay for and it works as it should and is easy to assemble. 

Do NOT skip the instructions on NOT using power tools or you will ruin it!

I thought I was following directions when assembling.  I was putting the layers together vertically. Please assemble horizontally to avoid everything collapsing when pushing the long boards onto the pegs.  now that 2 middle pieces are broken, I actually have one layer that has no dividers. I like it better this way, but you might not.

caution while assembling

Do not follow the assembly instructions directly. Anchor one side to the top or bottom shelf first, then assemble the remaining shelves and dividers. Then put the other side on and tighten the assembly screws. found that out the hard way. the inner shelves and dividers kept falling apart every time I tried to put the sides on.
Otherwise, once assembled, it is pretty solid and makes a great addition to my furniture.

plastic dowels too small for the project type. most cheap cabinets have a solid piece of cardboard to hold the back together, not this one... its a couple small  pieces. screws immediately strip out the worst mdf board ive ever come across. currently adding wood glue, brackets, and a proper backing. bought on sale (shocking i know) some deals  are too good to be true  DO NOT BUY
