Good quality for the price. Better than I was expecting. My daughter's only complaint is that the bars on the ladder hurt her feet, otherwise she loves the bed. My teenage son assembled the bed in a couple of hours, so not too difficult. I would recommend it to others needing a cheap bunk bed.

Let me just say that this bed took about 2 hours to put together and there were ALOT of pieces; but the instructions were straight forward. Its  fits well in a small space. I thought it would be too tall because my sealing is low but nope... it is perfect! I also ordered the twin mattress in a box which had horrible reviews but thats bc those mattresses are best for kids NOT adults. All good for now.

Perfect for my kids!

Loved it!!! It's sturdy and I love that fact that they can also be separated and doesn't have to be bunk beds forever so they can switch it up when the times comes. Does take time to put together but what doesn't it turned out great thank you

I ordered these beds for my boys age 5 & 6. I'm using them as single beds until they are older, then I plan to bunk them. I'm a petite single mom so I was a little concerned I would need help putting them together.  They were very easy to assemble. I did it by myself in just a couple hours. The box was smaller and easier to handle by myself than I thouht it would be. The beds are light and easy for one person to move. I'm a little concerned they will be too light weight  when I bunk them, but we will see. My only complaint was that they came a day later than expected so the box sat outside in the weather and the bottom got wet and started to breakdown. This didn't affect the actual beds as they were well packaged, just a little messy getting the box in the house.

Easy to assemble

I made sure I read all the reviews before purchased this bed, and the reviews were good. I was a bit disappointed that it was going to take 2 weeks to receive after placing my order on line, but hey, the shipping was free so why complain? 
The bed was delivered on the date they said it would and I could track my order on the Walmart website through my account. Cudos to the shipping department! 
The bed was delivered in a rather large box that was left on my front porch, it was heavy so I had my 16 year old son help me with it.
The process of putting it together took about an hour and a half with 2 people. No tools were required, everything came in the box.
I was s but skeptical because some of the reviews claimed that pieces were missing. Everything was there and it didn't take long to get it together and in place! 
The bed is sturdy and my 2 hellions LOVE it! I cannot say thank you enough to Walmart for a great product and an even better price! I'm sold and would tell family and friends looking for a quality bed to look into this one! 
Great bed, great service and great price. Can't stress that enough.

Skeptical mom of 2 roughneck boys ages 10 and 5

I liked how compact this bunk bed is. The only problem I really have is that the railings that the beds sit on are made of a thin metal for each bar and they clip into a hole in the bed frame. I truthfully don't think they are very sturdy and they bend a lot. I worry about the weight limit not even being what it says.

Nice and compact but mattress bars aren't the best

I like the beds although I wish the ladderwas wider and I don't like my son climbing on his pillows to get into bed. Happy I can use as individual beds or bunk. Directions great except one major section. The side rails need to face a certain direction for the safety rails to fit properly. I had to take all apart which was irritating.

Had 2 of the same pieces was very frusterating, the hubby used self tappers though and made it work guess this happens alot :( Its a decent bed wouldnt say the metalis very strong thou but for a 6 yr old n 3 yr old works great! thats my review honest opinion

I purchased this bunk bed and once assembled, I have no doubt that the bunk bed itself is quite sturdy. However, it was quite a fight to assemble this bunk bed because the manufacturing tolerances and the alignment of the holes was not perfect. For attaching the side posts that run alongside the bed, about half of the screws fit well and threaded in with ease, and the other half required some work to thread in. One hole was so badly misaligned that we were not able to insert the included screw where it was required. We had to get another screw that wouldn't strip to be able to torque it in. Also, the slats that run below the bed take quite a bit more work than expected to slide in, in some cases requiring us to pry the metal a centimeter outward so that the slats would sit flush in their slot, because the slats first insert into a groove, then they insert into a slot and have a notch that retains them in the slot. The bed frame itself is inexpensive, and sturdy, while being a clever design, but the assembly was a real pain. Hopefully, they can improve their manufacturing tolerances so that the screws insert smoothly into the holes, not having almost half of the hole covered by a misalignment, as seen in the attached picture.

Great bed, frustrating tolerances

Item looks as pictured. Some of the bolts dont line up very well from how the parts are manufactured. My package arrived in good condition, but one of the foot boards was bent pretty bad, was able to bend back some to straighten it out. Several bolts not lining up or threading in easily. Some of the lats where the mattress lays had poor welds/splits in the metal.

Not bad for the price. Minor fitting issues.

Assembly was very difficult for a single mom of 3 kids. Certain metal pieces didn't match up evenly and there was a dent on one of the head board pieces. Will not be buying another Mainstays bunk bed. And that's with me following all the directions to a T!
