I used to have big, chunky, over the top head boards and frames. As I’ve gotten older I realize I need less and this bed is exactly what I needed. The headboard is firm but if you push your head against it it’s not going to give you a headache. It’s just right (for me) and I think the color and the look is the headboard is attractive. Plain-but attractive. It’s sturdy. If you’re using the bed for activities I don’t know how well it holds up. If you’re just sleeping in it there is no squeaking, loose pieces or moving around. The only annoying thing is that the mattress moves off the frame at times, as there is no “lip” to catch it. It’s not all of the time but enough for me to mention it in this review.

only problem was I couldn't figure out how to put it together so if your not or never had a frame before I would make sure someone can do it or buy the install from them. but once together it's pretty heavy , very very sturdy doesn't wobble or anything and is very very pretty I didn't think it would be as nice because how the price is affordable. but boy is it it's almost to nice lol. but it also fits the bed size perfectly well for my bed anyways . it sets pretty hight once the mattress is on. thank you guys for fast delivery (same day) and the affordable price and great quality frame !!! much appreciated

The Mainstays Gray Upholstered Square Tufted Platform Bed looks much more expensive than it actually is. The gray fabric gives it a modern, clean look, and the tufted headboard adds a nice touch of style without being too flashy.

Assembly was straightforward. The instructions were clear, and all the parts were well organized. I especially love that no box spring is needed, which saves both money and hassle. The frame feels sturdy and supportive, and it doesn’t squeak or shift. It holds the mattress well and gives a nice, low-profile look that works great in smaller or modern spaces.

This is a great value for the price. If you’re looking for an affordable, stylish, and functional platform bed, this is definitely a solid choice!

An affordable, stylish platform bed!

Great bed! It  looks fantastic and was easy to assemble. It’s also really well-made. I was nervous about this one at first, but am so glad I bought it!

Fantastic Bed!

It's nice and affordable. The assembly instruction is perfect. I have a 12" hybrid Mattress and works very well without box.
It looks strong and durable.

Affordable and durable bed

You get both an alan key and alan ratchet to set up.  Instructions were easy to understand and doable with 1 person, however 2 is ideal.  

Mine was missing a headboard screw but not really a big deal.

Good price and setup

Pros:
Item came well packed with no damage.
Easy to follow instructions with text and pictures for each step. Assembly took 45 minutes.
No missing parts! All parts were labeled correctly and matched up with the assembly instructions. Did not have to force ant part of the assembly. Platform is very solid.
A small ratchet is included and helps with speedy assembly.
Headboard height adjustability is a nice feature. I paired the platform with a 12" foam mattress and the mid headboard setting is perfect for me.
No sharp edges to snag mattress protector or sheets.

Nice and easy assembly and looks great!

Very difficult to assembly because the holes don’t line up properly but you can force it sometimes. The instructions are a cartoon which doesn’t help. Ratchet is a cheap toy tool. Funny how the girls reviewing this bed have never seen a ratchet before.  Sturdy once assembled but it’s a role of the dice if you’ll get one that was made correctly.

Poor factory manufacturing

Very disappointed with my purchase.After spending 5 hours trying to fix, finally did 90 %. The leg of the headboard refused to slide through or lodge no matter how many times I tried. Mind you I followed all instructions but it didn’t work. Later I found out the side rails were broken 😡 I’m very disappointed. Buy this at ur own risk and stress

Don’t Buy

I put the frame together and the bars under the mattress don’t slide in correctly so one side of the mattress goes in because the bars won’t stay in place or slide in to lock into place
