Not sure what the poor reviews are about - this review is for the vanilla coconut Deep n Delicious cake (pic shows Coconut cream pie). It's very moist and so tasty and creamy. I was even eating it out of the container as it was hard to have just one slice!

This pie is so delicious. Soft graham crust, whipped filling, toasted coconut on top. To die for

Disappointed

This review is based on two different McCains Deep'n Delicious Coconut Creme Pies.

The pie is quite small, especially compared to the box it is in.  The pie is only 7 inches across the top and 5 1/4 inches across the bottom, whereas the box is 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches.  Also the pie is only 1 inch high, less than half the height of the box, the extra space taken up by a plastic dome which might make sense if the pie actually topped the the pie plate; it doesn't.

The layers are all very thin unlike the picture on the box.  The pie crust was about half the thickness shown on the box and the coconut creme filling was about the same thickness as the pie crust, maybe a third of what is shown on the box.  The whipped creme layer was better but still thinner than shown and certainly not as fluffy.

As for taste, the crust barely registered due to being so thin and rest tasted like a cheap coolwhip lightly flavoured with coconut, nothing like the rich coconut taste they once had.

Very disappointed.  Will definitely be more cautious of McCain products in the future.
