Used to have minimalist from another brand but they changed their design. Saw this on on sale and give it a try.  The grip is pretty good on mountain trail. I can feel everything under my feet. Toe box is generous. Size wise is about one size bigger then I usually wear. I wear size 11 and this pair 11 has one inch space between my big toe to the plastic. Time will tell how the tread will last. Other then above, good shoes for great price.

Minimalist

This is my 3rd consecutive pair of the trail glove. Slipper like comfort and a sure footed feeling on any terrain, they really do fit like a glove. From everyday wear as a dad keeping up with 7 kids, to foraging wild mushrooms in the backwoods, to quietly stalking big game on hunting trips. I've put these shoes through trials the designers probably wouldn't have anticipated and they hold up really well to all the abuse I throw at them.

My Favorite Shoe

Bought these for around camp/casual time while travelling. I've been wearing them around the house to break them in (it's winter here) and I love them. They fit well, similar to a climbing shoe, they are very comfortable and easy to put on or take off. The sole is very pliable which is nice for casual wear. I can't yet report on their trail capability.

Possibly my new favorite shoe!

Very pleased with this new version of the Trail Glove. I had the original Trail glove several years ago and really liked that shoe. When it wore out I tried replacing it at that time but the version then did not fit right. These were comfortable right out of the box. I like to toe protection. They do run small ans so I bought a 1/2 size smaller and they fit perfectly. I highly recommend.

Great upgrade to a great shoe

Exactly as advertised. I'm convinced of the research showing barefoot training helps develop or at least maintain proprioception, especially during training on uneven surfaces. So, these are my primary hiking shoe. I use them three times per week. I find them comfortable and safe.

Proprioception

The Trail Glove 7 has been an outstanding addition to my summer and outdoor lineup. I primarily use them for light hiking and biking, and they perform exceptionally well in both.

What I appreciate most is the sole—it's grippy, solid, and gives great feedback without sacrificing stability. On the bike, that translates into confidence and control, and on trails, it provides a natural, connected feel to the ground.

They're lightweight, breathable, and incredibly comfortable for extended wear, especially in warmer weather. This is exactly the kind of versatile, minimalist outdoor shoe that's hard to find done right.

Merrell really fills a unique niche for me with this model—functional, well-designed, and adaptable across activities.

outstanding addition to my summer

Have always loved the fit of these shoes, and was so glad to see that they are still available. They do fit large, so get a half size smaller than you normally get. The website does recommend that.

Nice fit

Good shoulder season shoe for into the fall before the snow flies; light, comfortable fit. Did have to return a pair due to an inconsistency in how the sole was attached to the upper in one of the shoes. Re sizing, I ordered these in a US10.5: sizing same as previous Vapor Gloves I've purchased (also 10.5).

Good shoulder season shoe - trail walking

These are probably great shoes for someone with narrower feet.  I've used trail gloves for over ten years, but they are no longer suited for those of us with wider feet. They're much narrower than before, and unfortunately I've had to give up Merrell shoes for other brands which are more comfortable.why

Why did you change, when you were so good?

For some strange reason my right shoe squeaks while wearing this model. A QUALITY DEFECT IN MATERIALS USED OR IN THE  MANUFACTURING OF THIS MODEL OF SHOE.

I hope Merrell can send me a replacement or a refund.
Previous Merrrell shoes I never experienced this squeking problem.
