Frequently stops playing or becomes non-functional after limited use.

Radio stations and cds come in with good quality.

It's only been a couple of days but seems to work well. I noticed this at a senior nursing home where they used it every day, all day and never had a problem with it. I also saw it at another senior center and they used for their classes, again no problems.

I love this CD Player. It has a wonderful sound, for such a small item. I had one before, but it just stopped working after 11 years. After reading the information , on this new one, I realize I did something, I shouldn't have. So make sure to read instructions.

Great CD Player

I bought this Emerson Portable CD player AM/FM radio top load player for my 90 year old Mother. It's easy for Older Senior Adults to play their favorite music on. I would recommend this player for Older Senior Adults. Not heavy to carry around and can run on batteries for outside use. It's also electric with cord. Great Purchased item.

I bought this for my 88 yo mother to listen to audio books.  She's only been using it for a week, but loves it!  It is small enough to fit easily on the table next to her recliner chair. It's easy for her to insert and remove CDs.  The sound quality is excellent. The labeling for the buttons is small and difficult for her to read, but she really only needs to press the play/pause button.  I marked that one with an asterisk so she could easily identify it and remember it.  The digital display is difficult for her to see when her table light is on, but she just needs to turn it off to easily see/read it.  When not being used, she does leave it in the pause mode - we're hoping that doesn't affect the life of the player, but that is the easiest way for her to be able to independently use it.   She's now halfway through a 7 CD book all by herself and can't wait to go to the library to see what other audio books are available.  I think we found a winner!

Easy to use CD player for senior citizen

The CD player is surprisingly good for the price and size. It's loud enough to have in the kitchen and her throughout the house. And the quality of sound is pretty good. The radio is good too, when you zero in on a channel. That takes a little bit of work: to get exactly on the channel. Sometimes I have to work the position of the radio around to get good reception. It's compact and pretty powerful for its size.

Great CD player!

It works well. I don't use the radio. I use the CD player as a sleep aid. I like the
buttons because they have a good feel and they placed well so that I can
use them without seeing them.  I gave it four stars instead of five because 
I have only used it a few hours. I hope that it lasts a long time. I bought it
to replace my Emerson player which also worked well but it did not last.

I like it.

I was really excited to get this for Christmas last year. It was late getting sent to me and the sound quality is really bad. I would not suggest anyone buying this. It has a hum on the tapes so I ended up returning it. Boom box.

The item doesn't work...the electric cord doesn't fit well so the radio doesn't work consistently. Sometimes there's a connection, but sometimes there isn't.

Not Recommended

Bought this for my daughter's Christmas present to listen to cds in her room. It stopped working 1 month later. Tried to return it to the company, but the process was so ridiculously complicated that I ended up just throwing it out and getting a different one that works so much better.

Do NOT buy

I bought this 2 months ago to use the CD to play lullabies for my grandkids when they were visiting. We've used it 4 or 5 times, and now the CD player no longer works. The radio plays so it's not the plug or electrical connection. I've tried playing different CDs in case there was a problem with the CD but the display doesn't even light up when a CD is inserted. Hopefully I can return it to Walmart even though it's 2 months old and I no longer have the original packaging.
