This style of shoe provides excellent support and nonskid sole for my brother, who I purchased them as a gift for Christmas. He is an amputee above the knee on the left and not using a prosthetic. He's confined to his w/c, so the velcro loop closures provide easy on and off for him. We kid about having to purchase a pair of shoes, but only getting to use the right shoe. Too bad people with special needs couldn't purchase 2 right footed shoes. Just a thought!

"SPECIAL FIT"

New Balance US

Because of a prosthesis on one leg and a brace on the other, and naturally wide feet, I order New Balance men's shoes in a 4W.  The velcro closures also help with arthritic hands which have trouble trying laces.

I Need Special Shoes

This shoes fit the bill for my 89 year old father in law.  He walks on the treadmill and this shoe give him stability and support.  Not to mention the ease of putting it on! Great shoe!

Great shoe for Papa

This is a most comfortable shoe. It wears well and has a good sole that can be used on a gym floor as well as for walking or hiking. I've been walking my dog on ice covered streets and surprised these shoes held their own, and survived the salt and wet. The only thing that can be improved, and the reason for 4 stars, is the length of the closing straps, they can be slightly longer. I would still recommend these shoes. I use the wide version, the regular size was too small for me.

Most comfortable shoe

The shoe doesn't allow for an easy slip through fit. I find it to be a bit uncomfortable in getting my foot inside the space-but I imagine that is due to the increasing flexibility of the material that needs to happen. We'll see how it goes. Thanks.

Review of Recent Purchase-New Balance Walking Shoe

Straps too short.  Have been for decades  and nothing has been corrected.  NB is the only shoe my feet really prefer but all my slack hems hate being ruffed by the leftover hook side.  I have a very old pair that has the straps much longer.  Why don't you correct this?  I am not the only one that says this from other past reviews.  Also these latest pairs are overly stiff and hard to get on.

Could only wear them for one day because the upper strap hurt my wife's foot where it loops back to fasten. I tried wearing them for a day to see if that would help but no change. The shoes look well made and look nice but unfortunately didn't work out for her.

Good Shoe, Bad Feet

These look good and are very comfortable and are LOUD.  Every step is a loud "SQUEAK", so don't try sneaking around the house; however, I did have fun making my nieces laugh by pretending to be the worst ninja ever.

Squeaky Shoes

The shoes are nice but the point where the tongue is stitched to the upper on the inside lands right on top of the joint between my big toe and it's metatarsal. I was hoping that it would break in. But after trying every other day for a week. It has irritated my skin. 
I will be returning the shoes to the factory store in San Ysidro, CA this week. I will try a half size larger if they have any.

The EEEE was too narrow. Could not seal the velcro strap. For years the only shoes, sneakers I wear are New Balance 4Es. This is the first of many pairs that did not fit.
