2nd pair of 574s having bought some in New York and worn almost daily for over a year and walking 5 miles every day they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Wide fit considerably more expensive in UK than USA but worth it for the comfort.

I got pressured into buying these as my wife said I needed to be more trendy (I'm 61).  I have wide feet with high arches so normally go for ultra comfy, non trendy shoes and trainers. So my expectations were low. 
My 574 cores have been a revelation.   Comfy, great fit, trendy too.  Even at 61 I can look and feel great .

A revelation.

These sneakers are both stylish and comfortable. I have been pleased with their comfort from the very first day, and they continue to look new even after months of consistent wear. I often receive compliments on them. New Balance offers extremely comfortable shoes that combine quality style with a reasonable price point.

Decent shoes to wear to work - I can easily slip them on and off under my desk. They're a bit stiff through the laces. they also don't "hug" my foot in that I wouldn't try running in these - pretty sure they'd come right off. but good for walking. not to heavy or bulky, look good with jeans or slacks.

Fairly comfy, laces are stiff

The 574 is a true to fit I like the use of leather they break in easy.only 2 complaints.if walking on wet smooth surfaces these have no grip.when slipping shoe on the heel could use some reinforcement because it folds in when trying to slip on.i don't tie everything I like to slip on.other than that it's comfy to walk or run.very lightcompared to more modern bulky designs.lots of color options though I always buy black for work.

Classic vintage running she style

Happy to find sneakers that still use real laces as the deformity in my arthritic feet doesn't mesh well with the pop on types. These sneakers are supportive and have a comfortable toe box. My two wishes are: 1) wish they were a tad lighter in weight and 2) wish there was a bit of cushioning around the back top of the shoe where the shoe meets the ankle. The back top of my ankle can feel irritated at times due to the pressure / stiffness of the shoe in that area.

i buy these shoes 574 because i have always bought them. they are comfortable to me and easy to wear. with as many of these shoes that have been bought by people that live where im from its a little sad you dont carry some of the most popular styles of 574 anymore. im pretty sure this baltimore/ washington dc area have bought more of these shoes than anywhere else. bring the leather 574 shoes back, smh

stick to what got you there

Cute casual shoe! However, after 4 hours on my feet, my lower back was feeling it. Still on the hunt for the unicorn of a cute, casual sneaker offering good support. I will say, all of my NBs have held up over time so they continue to be my preferred brand.

Cute, but not super supportive

I like this shoe very much, however sizing was an issue for me. After reading a review that stated that person had bunions & hammertoes & subsequently she bought a Wide version of her regular size, I followed suit - only to feel the Wide was too clumsy and my reg size 8 was not long enough...I wish I had sent them back for an 8.5 regular size, but I wore them several times thinking they might stretch out, but they did not...Not the company's fault, really. Thus, it is always better to buy shoes in person...

Size up

Size 8.5 fits better for me (I'm usually size 8) but it hurts the union between my big toe and feet, noticed after wearing them for a few hours, I don't want to exchange them again, but seem that they have changed the same is not as comfortable as before.

It fits but is not the same as before.
