This is like cooked quinoa that has been dried and when you pour hot water in it, it softens again and becomes edible. I found the instructions weird, as it just says 1 part water to 1 part quinoa. Since, I was cooking the whole bag at once, I just wanted to know exactly how much water to add, and it did not say. So, I had to measure the quinoa, which filled my 1 cup measuring cup. Then I added 1 cup of boiling water and let it sit for 5 minutes as stated in the instructions. After 5 minutes, the quinoa appeared to be softened and the water was absorbed. It tasted fine after I added some seasonings. The "instant" factor is good if you are limited on time and it's convenient if you are camping maybe. If that is the case, then I would recommend trying this out.

Instant is convenient - tasted good with seasonings added

This pack was definitely enough for two, probably even three if the meal has more components. I chose to let this sit in a bowl and pour over 3 cups of boiling water before letting sit for 5 minutes. 3 cups was too much as I needed to strain out a good deal of water, but the quinoa was cooked through. This straight quinoa, so you gotta season it yourself. Also, it was kind of tough to tear open. I ended up cutting beneath the seal since it was proving pretty hard, and I wasn't going to save it.

Easy meal

This instant quinoa is perfect when you need a quick and easy meal. It takes as little as 1 minute for it to cook (or up to 5, depending which cooking method you choose) and you have a filling meal.The directions are very easy to follow. I opted for the stove top method, which is just boiling water (or in my case, chicken stock) and then cooking the quinoa for 1 minute. Easy peasy.I added artichoke hearts, parmasan cheese and sun dried tomatoes, to balance it out. It was delicious.Great product. Definitely recommend.

Quick and easy

I brought this on a backcountry ski trip with me and it was awesome. I added half of it to the Caribbean Curry for dinner and half to the Cali Breakfast Bowl for breakfast and I was ready to go for a big day in the mountains! The meals still had plenty of flavour, but I definitely appreciated the extra calories from the quinoa throughout the day. There was enough room in the bags of the meals to directly add the quinoa and extra water and I let it sit for the recommended amount of time for the meals and it worked great.

Great to mix with meals.

1 part quinoa to 2 parts water, I microwaved mine for 2 minutes per instructions for ease. Mine did come out a bit watery but I just quickly drained the extra water, no big deal, I probably just needed to add more dry quinoa. Great taste, matched well with my Indian food because I did not have rice or bread, plus quinoa is healthier. Love the speed of preparing something healthy.

Super easy once you measure the water out. There was 112 grams of quinoa in the package, so that means you'll want to use double that for liquid per the instructions. You can make it 3 different ways, I chose to do the microwave method in a glass bowl. Turned out as I expected and tasted like any plain ol quinoa I've ever had. This stuff was plain, so I do suggest using stock as your cooking liquid or spicing it up with butter and seasoning after cooking. Happy they finally came out with quick cook quinoa!

This quinoa is plain but it cooks quickly as promised. I would probably search for alternatives because the point of instant food for me is so that I don't have to use add-ins and that the food is ready to eat. This quinoa is definitely packed with nutrition.

Good for plain quinoa

The idea is great, and i love similar pouched options like this for a quick meal or to take camping. The fact that you can cook it all sorts of ways (microwave, stove, puch, etc) was convenient. The instructions weren't very clear. When i read two parts water to 1 part quinoa i wasn't sure if that meant i should weigh it in grams, or put it in a measuring cup and match the water to that. I ended up measuring that it was about a cup of quinoa so i put in two cups of water. The quinoa was swimming in it and didn't really absorb much like you normally would expect. The directions say it just needs to boil for 1 minute. I live at a high elevation so that always mean longer here, but it seemed to take longer than expected anyway...closer to 5, until it got soft. The quinoa was completely plain and flavorless. Usually these "ready to eat" pouches are made with some kind of flavoring so i expected it to be edible right from the stovetop but i ended up having to season it which i really wasn't sure how to do well. BUT if you need quick plain quinoa for something then the flavorless aspect is good. I ended up putting the other half in a salad as a filler and it tasted great in there. Certainly a little pricey in my opinion. Quinoa isn't that expensive and similar side dish pouches go for about half this price max.
