[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this as a gift, because I've owned this very grater for a few years. It's sturdy and I love the “box”'that measures grated cheese for me. It even has a lid l,so I can prep cheese ahead of time and pop it in the fridge. OXO products are some of my favorite kitchen tools.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] LOVE LOVE LOVE my new OXO box grater with the non-slip base and container for collecting grated food! After finally retiring my 40-year old, rusty box grater, I was beyond pleased with the design of this box grater (a bit more compact than my old one) and with its lidded container for the grated food. I've only grated cheese thus far, but look forward to further grating adventures. Highly recommend.

Perfection!

This is way better than the Farberware one I had before which the handle kept falling off. Stainless steel is durable so I know this will be good for a while. Only downside is that the handle is plastic so not the best option for a handle but seems to be sturdy so far. I've grated cheese, onion, and potato with no issues so far. It's sharp enough and stays sharp. The little container for cheese at the bottom is not really useful in my opinion unless you're not grating a lot..

This was my first time ever purchasing a cheese grater! I had used them when I was younger and in the kitchen with my stepmother, when I thought it was “fun” 🙃 I cooked my first Thanksgiving dinner this year for my family, as my mother was placed in a nursing facility earlier this year. Normally when I make anything needing shredded cheese I just buy the pre shredded bags. However, I wanted to really put effort in this year…so I purchased the cheese grater! I thought it was a little pricey when I first looked them up, but after further looking the price was pretty in line with others. I really liked the design with the little box attached at the bottom to give me an idea of the amount shredded as I went along. I used it in a glass stovetop, on top of a small paper towel to catch any that may have fell out, and I had no issues at all with it slipping, falling back, or sliding away from me…very sturdy in my opinion. I was very hesitant to spend the $ not knowing the quality and knowing I didn't have time to get another one; however I am very pleased with my purchase!! And will most definitely continue to grate my own in the future!

Perfect all-in-one grater! Has four different grating options. Sturdy handle and size makes it really functional. What I appreciate the most is the catching container which has a lid so you can easily measure and store whatever you're grating. The container fits inside the bottom of the grater too so its compact and you're less likely to loose any pieces.

Very versatile box grater. Each side is a different size so you can grate things 4 different ways . There is a removable plastic measuring cup to catch what is being grated . This is very convenient and makes no mess . The bottom piece also has measurements on it in ml on one side or  1/4, 1/2 , 3/4 or one cup on other side . I use this all of the time . I love it . The soft handle is very comfortable and easy to hold while grating . Another excellent product from Oxo .

Comfortable grip versatile grater!

A cheese grater is an essential tool in any kitchen I love my Oxo box grater. There is four different sides to it which offer versatile grating options. The blades of the grater are sharp enough for the food item to grate easily but safe enough for me not cute myself. It has a black rubber handle that offers a nice grip as well as rubber in the bottom which make it sturdy and doesn't slip. It comes with a removable plastic measuring cup which is very convenient for when I need to measure something for a recipe. I personally do not use the bowl catcher when I am shredding my cheese. It is designed to be used that way to be easier. But it is too small and the cheese ends up falling out from the side and makes a mess. So I personally prefer using a bigger bowl to not make a mess. And I I ust use the cup it comes with as storage for extra cheese as it does with come with a lot which I do love. The box grater is slim and not bulky like most traditional ones so it doesn't take much space is my drawer.

Versatile grater, not the best bowl catcher

It's a good grater but I don't use the catch bowl much because it is too small for me. I use it a lot for block mozzarella and just put a dinner plate under it.
