Got this case for my new iPhone SE because I used an Otter Box Commuter on my prior iPhone 6 for four years and was very pleased with the protection it provided.  The case is small but provides great protection.  I know because over 4 years the phone was dropped many times.  Thanks Otter Box

Great and Tough Product

I've used the iphone5s version of this for years and it worked great. I had my iphone 5s since 2013 (so 3 years) and I've dropped it a million times but it's still in perfect condition without even a little scratch to this day. I bought this after I upgraded my phone, I already dropped my iphone 7 many times (lol) and it's doing just fine without any shattering or scratching. Sometimes I want to switch up my case to a pretty phone case with fancy designs, but I drop my phone too often and I don't want to risk breaking it. So, if you're like me this will be perfect for you.

not too bulky, but very good protection

I have had the case for about three weeks and have dropped the phone several times without hurting anything (one nick on the case, which is better than on the phone).

The color is good, and it is grippy enough that it doesn't slide in my hand but smooth enough that it will still slide into my pocket, when it fits.

I don't think the phone/case need to be smaller, but women pockets should be bigger.

slim and durable

This is my second Otterbox for my Apple SE. It was very difficult to get onto the phone. I don't like the flap over the Lightning charging port. The phone buttons are hard to push. BUT it feels very secure and I like the textured back. My previous Otterbox lasted over two years and my phone survived several drops. Eventually that Otterbox just disintegrated. I use my Otterbox with my Turtleback holster. Turtleback recommends it.

Mixed bag, more good than bad

This case is a replacement for an Otterbox case I purchased in 2020. After use every day that case had finally succumbed, the rubber switch and port covers came off, and the cover over the on-switch was problematic. This new case is a different, slimmer design which does not cover the face. This means that the phone is far more touch sensitive than I'm used to! I think I prefer the design that protects the face but...we'll see.

Replacement/Design Change

Love the new case.  I had worn out my old Otter.  the only feature that is not as 'smooth' as my old case: the flap that covers where the recharger inserts.  my other cover didn't even have a flap.  with new one, I have to hold phone upside down and also hold flap back with my thumb. Not a big deal, just different.  I feel like Otter protects my phone better than any other case! Thanks for great quality.

replacement case

Case works and since the three phones are all the same form factor, I can see why they just added the new SE into the list of models that this case will work with. Not sure if they will ever make a new design that allows the logo to be shown in the center of the phone and that annoy the people who use those pop things, but it doesn't really bother me, I'm not using the phone to advertise and I don't attach the pop up to the back. One thing that was a concern is that this case does NOT come with that thin plastic film to cover your screen. The commuter case for the iPhone 6 always came with this, but they don't supply it anymore. It's their way of suggesting to buy the glass cover in addition to the case, which is very expensive. Keep this in mind so you are not surprised like I was when I did not see the thin plastic film for the screen.

Fits, but needs to be updated for the new SE

I've had Otterbox cases for years now, and used them hard. A story I like to tell about my old Defender case is that I was sitting on top of a Boeing 737 changing out a VHF antenna and my phone slid out of my pocket and fell to the ground. For reference, that's a long dang way. It was somehow just fine, and I kept using it for four more years.

These days, working in an office requires the less-beefy Commuter case, and this is my second one. They're light, tough and add some necessary depth and grip to the too-thin phone so my dumb gorilla hands can actually hold it.

My only gripe is that Apple moved the logo on the iPhone SE, so now the little round vanity window on the back just shows a bare patch of glass. I don't care too much, but if you're into showing off, take that under advisement.

Anyhow, A+++++ would drop off airplane again.

Excellent case, but logo doesn't line up w/window

I've been using my new iPhone SE 2020 with the Otterbox Commuter case for the last month. I had this style case for my old iPhone and was sure it would offer decent protection to my new phone.

My new Commuter case fits great, and I like that the “hole” in the back (in previous models to display the phone's logo) was removed from this style. It was a little difficult to put on, so I would not recommend this to someone who likes switching between cases.

I do wish it came in more colors than all black, ballet slipper pink, and aqua. Unfortunately I put my phone in my jeans pocket once and dye transferred onto the pink case. This never happened with my old case, which was dark purple and hot pink.

Great fit & protection, wish it had more colors

There wasn't a screen protector in the box with the case. The box showed the case with the plastic screen cover, but it was missing. I had to order one to fit the iPhone separately. That was a little disappointing!

Almost great!

I ordered my Commuter case a month ago. Was disappointed to receive it in an unsealed box with no screen protector inside. Have tried to contact customer service... no luck.
