Can be sleek and modern, but also prone to scratches and wear.

A little bulkier than my previous case, but I am confident it will actually protect my phone much better. My previous case sustained both a cracked screen and cracked screen protector (2 different occasions) and I couldn't remember dropping the phone either time.

I've used OtterBox Defender cases on my last two iPhones and this is the third. The case feels a little less rubbery, especially the back is more of a hard plastic. Not too sure about the camera button cutout on the side and how well it will protect if it were to fall.

A little different than previous versions

The back of the case gets really caked with fingerprints, otherwise it's a great case and fits very snuggly. I would recommend it, the only thing is how the plastic on the back of the case collects fingerprints and oils.

Good case, gets gross with fingerprints quickly

I wanted to love this phone case. And I was excited that they offered a case with the highest DROP+ Rating that was also pretty. I purchased an iPhone 16 Pro which has the new "Camera Control" which is not only a clickable button, but you can slide your finger on it for additional functions. For some reason, Otterbox decided that to use the Camera Control, you need full access to it from the front of your phone, so the case is "cut out" around the control - you can see it in the pictures. At first, it was just annoying that seemed to be where my thumb wanted to rest regularly - but there was no case edge there. 

Then, within a couple days, I cracked the glass screen protector right in the center of the "open space". I don't even know how it happened - I didn't drop my phone. But I must have bumped it on something right at that point. Otterbox cases are supposed to protect the edges, but they left this big Achilles heel. And then my thumb kept resting on the sharp edges of the cracked screen protector.

Almost every Otterbox series has that stupid open space for the Camera Control that is totally unnecessary. I've already purchased a new case (different brand) - it does not expose the area above the Camera Control, and I can use the control just fine. I have such high expectations of Otterbox, an they just didn't meet them this time.

So Disappointing

Customer Service

I have been using Otterbox cases exclusively since the iPhone 4 and this is by far the worst Otterbox case i have ever owned. Not only is there a ridiculously oversized cutout for the camera control button on the 16 pro, but you also lose the belt clip notch on the right side of the case forcing you to put your phone in the clip a certain way which is absolutely ridiculous. The design seems lazy and rushed and i also HATE the clear back. Its too slick and gets covered in fingerprints. The defender pro xt for the iPhone 14 pro was far superior with its matte plastic back, this case is terrible. Also, the little alignment magnet for the magsafe fell off after only putting the case on my phone once to try out the case. I dont know what happened to Otterbox but i wont be buying another one until they stop putting out rushed garbage like this. Whoever thought that cutting out a quarter of the right side of the case for a TINY button was a good idea should be fired.

Very disappointed

Great case with one major flaw. This case protects ALMOST all of the front of the iPhone 16 pro. It is missing a section of screen on the front of the case where the new camera control is. I have had to replace 4 screen protectors because the case does NOT protect that one area of the phones front glass, it doe protect the back glass in that spot. I am not happy about this and this flaw will force me into searching out alternatives. The case design on the back is printed on the outside of the clear plastic and has scratched off a decent chunk of the print, could have printed this on the inside of the plastic on the back to protect the rather cool design.

One major flaw

There is a huge gap over the camera control button where the screen is completely exposed with NO protection. Within, two weeks, my daughter's phone had a huge chip in the screen protector in this area. Hoped the phone screen isn't actually damaged. This design is horrible, and I have been an Otterbox only phone case purchased for over 20 years.

Worst Otterbox design!!

Lavender colored case stained easily. Don't like cutout for camera buttons, it exposes the screen and  feels like it may experience damage. Also won't clip into my tripod holder properly because of the cutout. Magnetic strip already fell off. Always been an Otterbox fan til now.

Don't bother

The capture cutout is too big.  I'm constantly dropping my phone due to avoiding the cutout.  The case can only be put on to the belt clip one side because now there is no room on the other side of the case for clip on.

The case is too clunky and thick, and the cut out area near the new camera button is just flat out ugly. I returned and picked out a different case that didn't look like someone took a bite out of it
