Picked up this portable A/C for a room in our house that just doesn't cool well like the rest of our house. Set up was easy and we made sure to leave it sitting up right for 24 hours after delivery as the shipping box recommends this as it needs to "settle". Picked this model specifically because it was on the Wirecutter budget pick, but still has great performance. I would agree -- it cools the smaller room we're using it in very well. Remote is handy for turning it off when it gets too cold. We got portable over window because our HOA disallowed window units. It does require the window thing, but it doesn't hang out and was easy to set up and doesn't damage the window.

This air conditioner was a little more expensive but it is worth every penny. I literally get cold. I live in N. California where it gets very hot and I am no longer worried about the summer heat now.

Best air conditioner

Works really good to cool our boys room. We live in Northern Ca and so far this is working great to cool off their bedroom. They have high ceilings, which can make it harder to cool but it is working great to keep them cool at night.

keeps it cool

I live in Florida and this unit cools the room fast, too powerful for a 240 sq ft room so I have a good problem. Also about the noise, I work from home and keep unit  10 ft away from the phone on the lowest setting and people can't hear it. No complaints

Powerful and Quiet

It was easy to install , keeps the room nice and cool. Ive only had it a couple of weeks but so far no complaints.

Did my research looking for the best Portable A/C and this one was one on the list. I end up choosing this cause at the time of the heat wave my old one went out so. I needed one ASAP me and heat don't mix. within 2 days I received it. I use it in my master bedroom this one is way better than the one i had. It  completely keeps my room cool through the day at Comfortable Temperature. I absolutely have no regrets in this purchase and at a good price. I highly recommend. Also read the directions before you use it FYI IT DOES SAY LET IT SET FOR 24 HRS OUT OF THE BOX.

I Love my new A/C

This AC is amazing!!! It works pretty well and cooler the room making us feel comfortable. It's a little noise, due to the size so be prepared for that. Installation was easy, took 15 min to put everything together even tough the gear is super heavy. Shipping was fast, the AC was dropped off at my doorstep only 2 days after my purchase.

doesnt make too much noise really and the exhaust hose is plenty long enough to reach a nearby window. cools a smaller apartment pretty well.

I use this for a supplement for our large bedroom. works great , we turn it on 64 at night and freeze.

Shipped from California to North Dakota. The box was taped up and I opened in while  UPS waited. The back of the A/C was damaged, the cord was damaged and I refused to accept it. UPS took it back. I am glad that I read previous reviews and that I was home when delivered.
