[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first unpacked this, I thought what have I gotten myself into.  But...the instructions were extremely easy to follow and putting it together was unbelievably easy.  I purchased black and it was true to color. There are plenty of shelves to do what ever you need to do.  There are extra pins to put the shelves on thankfully, how those things disappear is amazing. I purchased two units and I like the quality so much, I am ordering a third unit.  These are very good looking units. The wood is very thick and high quality. Excellent!

I mean you can't go climbing on it .

When my wife and I received the unit my first thoughts were that it would be a nightmare to assemble. Well it went together quite easily as long as you follow the instructions.
It comes by the name Barrister quite honestly as it is a good looking piece of furniture when assembled and loaded with books, movies, etc. It looks like something you might see in a lawyer's office.
We are very pleased with the product.

Impressed

A few pucks and dye sewn but has not too seey places so I kept

Not too bad

This unit is sturdy and well made compared to other furniture kits like this. However, the 4 molding pieces running vertically down the front are designed too wide so they completely hide the discs at each end of every shelf. You can't see the spine of the cd case or access them. I had to put blank cd cases at each end of every shelf so the good discs weren't hidden, taking up space for 48 cds.  I paid a lot for this poor design, I will never buy from this company again.

Sturdy But Poorly Designed

This shelf is made with MDF, which is basically sawdust glued together with chemicals and formaldehyde. This shelf smells like something died in the room. I have other MDF furniture in my home and none of them have any kind of odor, even when new, so I don't know why this shelf smells so bad. Is it a manufacturing defect? Is it a particular chemical they use? who knows

Keeping the windows open for days and having activated carbon in the room do not work

I would not recommend this furniture to anybody because the smell is absolutely awful

This shelf is from a company called Prepac so stay away from them

This furniture is made with MDF and STINKS

Product not as advertised.  Has to be anchored to a stud in the wall.  Not at all what I was anticipating.
