Great Yarn

Nice, thick, colorful yarn.  I made a crochet hat with mine and it's nice and warm in our cold winter climate.  I have washed mine and laid flat to dry-it did not shrink or pill up. It's great for hats, and would probably make a nice thick warm blanket or sweater also.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this yarn and then Yarnspirations sent me some more in a gift box. With all this yarn, I decided to crochet the Cozy blanket from the pattern on the Yarnspirations site. Still in progress, but I'm super happy with the results so far. I'll add a couple bands of Red Heart Super Saver in Mirage color. The cream and tan match exactly with the cream and tan in the Red Heart Comfort yarn in Washed Beige.

Not too bad a price because it is a big ball. I needed it for a blanket that I was doing and ran out of yarn. Glad that they had the colour I needed but paid more. My first ball was on sale for $5 , not this one though.  But the yarn crotchets nicely and blanket will turn out good

When making an afghan, I like large skeins to make less yarn connections. I love the (jewel-tone) Peacock color. The color is a little darker than pictured. The weight of the yarn seems heavier than medium but, it was perfect for my size J crochet hook. I don't know how it would work with a smaller hook. I am almost finished with 1 skein and it does not tangle like another large-skein brand that I have used. I am very satisfied with this yarn.

Large skeins were perfect for my afghan project.

awesome yarn. sturdy yet very soft. easy to machine wash and dry. no fading of color or stretching out of shape. lots of amazing colors to choose from. my "go to" yarn of choice!!!

Gotta Get This ....

I have been using this yarn for over 40 years. I still wear a sweater that I knit 30 years ago. It's easy to knit or crochet with and washes well. I love that there is no dye lot. Making it easier to repair past projects that are favourites.

Ease and durability

While the colors are great, and the value is wonderful, this yarn is FAR from soft.  In fact, I have looked up online how to soften yarn that is this stiff.  Since it is so stiff, I will say it doesn't separate, and keeping neat lines and borders is easy, if that is a goal of yours.  But, if you need something to snuggle up against, this is not the yarn for you.  It almost feels like it has a wax coating on it.  I didn't look at the reviews before buying, as the volume of yarn was what I thought I was looking for.  In the future, I will buy yarn that is softer, in smaller skeins and just buy more of it.  Not as economical, but worth it for the final product.

No Comfort in Red Heart Comfort Yarn

By stating comfort yarn one would think it is a very soft yarn. I found it very course and not soft at all and immediately returned it ....... how misleading.

I bought this yarn in "Gravel pirnt" and I really liked the colors but the yarn itself was really unpleasant to the touch. It might have been good for a dishcloth or scrubber of some kind, but I expected yarn called "comfort" to be nice and soft. Red Heart Super Saver is softer, and that's saying something.

Very scratchy yarn; no "comfort" at all.
